This is a serious steakhouse. Porter house for two and marinated skirt were exceptional. Sides amazing. Freshest raw bar. Just amazing all around. Very nice staff, wait staff was fantastic. It was a meal I’m craving for again soon.

Food was so delicious. I ordered a T bone steak Jake’s style and the lobster truffle Mac and cheese. I highly recommend getting your steak Jake’s style, it comes topped with delicious Gorgonzola cheese and crispy fried onions. Steak was cooked perfectly. Lobster Mac and...cheese had a delicious sharp flavor and a TON of actual lobster meat in it. My meal was takeout, but I went to the restaurant and it seemed like a very nice place. I plan to return to dine in some day, but I’m now a big fan of Jake’s!More
Great Steak And Creamed Spinach Terrible Mac and Cheese Ashley the waitress was outstanding 👍Good drinks and reasonably priced
We go to Jake's all the time and although my favorite steakhouse in NY City is Keene's (the mutton chop is the best I have ever had), Jake's has great steak for the money. The shell steak is delicious and is around $30, which is...a real bargain compared to normal steak house prices. Also it has reasonably priced wines. Most steakhouses are exorbitantly expensive, but not Jake's. The beef barley soup is also to die for, as are the frizzled onions. Some reviewers point out that the downstairs is very noisy and I strongly agree. I don't like eating there. However, the upstairs is much nicer and even has a view of Van Cortlandt Park. Just request the upstairs. Make sure you get on the email mailing list because they give great deals when business is likely to be slow. For example, all Fridays during Lent give 20% off on the food. The best deal ever was when Friday during Lent came on one of the nights of Passover, a double whammy for practicing Catholics and Jews. We all feel bad for what is happening to restaurants during the Corona Virus crisis, and Jake's deserves to be supported.More
Lucked up and found Jake’s Steakhouse while researching for restaurants close to Van Cortlandt Park. It literally is right outside of it... From the start I was sold; great reviews, Michelin rated, phenomenal customer service, takes reservations and we could come straight from the park...in our casual attire. Perfect. Looked no further. The day of, we arrived a lot earlier than expected. This was not a problem. We were immediately seated and served. Our hungry bellies greatly appreciated this. And, we were not disappointed. The food, the drinks, just yum.... (and great portion sizes) Will absolutely be back should I find myself in the area. FYI menu is true steakhouse. Meaning a la cart. Reservations over 5 must also provide a credit/debit card to hold seating, but it will not be billed. Use whatever form of payment you’d like on the day of...More
Food was delicious, gave them 4 stars because my filet mignon was overcooked, same thing with my bfs Tbone
We have eaten here multiple times and have never been disappointed. The service is top notch and the steaks world class . Other items such as chicken, Salomon, short ribs etc are also more than good .Nightly specials make deciding what to have even more...difficultMore
I was alerted to Jake’s quality when I discovered its inclusion in the 2019 NYC Michelin Guide. Not sure what I was expecting but I can safely say that there is NO need to travel into Manhattan to eat excellent steak. From the appetizers, to...the steaks and sides Jake’s is the real deal. We ate the Porterhouse for two and it was delicious and emulating Peter Luger, the steak was served au jus on a sizzling plate. Ordered medium rare, it came out exactly as ordered. Our 3 sides: plain baked potato, grilled asparagus and sautéed broccoli were all tasty and complimented the steak well. We look forward to returning to Jake’s often when seeking quality meats.More
So we came here for a date night and the food is delicious. My wife’s fillet mignon was perfect, the sides were delicious. So why an average review, my steak was just ok. You see when you order a 35 day dry aged steak, it...better be perfect and it wasn’t. It was a tad over cooked at the bottom. However, I would give them another shot and go again later in the month.More
I had never been here before, and I really enjoyed the experience. Valet parking relieves so much stress, I'd go back just for that! We arrived on a busy Friday night but we had a reservation and the table was ready for us. Very busy...night, but our waitress was attentive and the staff kept our water full and our table clean. Cocktails and food came out much quicker than expected. I was really impressed by all this, cause it really was a packed house. Beer and wine menu have plenty of options and the cocktail menu is always welcome. Food was very good. Crab cakes weren't impressive, but the steak was cooked perfectly and excellent. The potatoes au gratin were hands down the best I've had. Dessert list has lots of choices and were very good. All in all, a great experience and meal. Will definitely visit again.More
I had the rack of lamb & it was delicious. Others had ribs & mac & cheese. We all enjoyed our meals. The staff were all very pleasant. Looking forward to going back. Enjoy.
Staff were attentive and accommodating and food was superb . You can sit inside or outside overlooking harbour which is stunning at night . Definitely going back before we fly to london .
Awful. Don't go. Horrendous service. No management. Disgusting food. Will never return. Will tell all not to go!
Ambiance and food is always good plus the valet parking is very convenient. I went for dinner with two friends last Friday. Steak was ordered medium this time and it was cooked rare. Been here many times and this last time it was a Friday...night so towards the end of our meal for which we ordered appetizers, dinner and dessert, the server definitely made us feel like she wanted the table for the next guests. We felt rushed to finish and it was a little off putting. Been there many times and love the food and service in general, but this time I was disappointed.More
My partner and I arrived at Jakes without a reservation at about 6:30 PM. Perhaps they may have only been honoring reservations - which sounds ludacris to me since most restaurants have at least a few tables available for walk-ins. The place was pretty empty...-maybe 6 or 7 people at tables; 4 at the bar. they also have an upstairs that appeared empty. We were told that we'd have to wait 45-60 minutes for a table. I asked why so long, but was ignored and told we'd have to wait as the hostess rudely walked away. We will NOT be coming back.More
