Great outdoor space overlooking a marina . Excellent seafood lunch ,not cheap ,but worth every penny,! Situated in icon city island ,a quaint New England fishing village in NYC. Hopefully they can continue to keep out the unseemly very rich that destroy were they go...with Mc Mansions. Look how rich I am! Keep it up city island!More
My family and I had dinner at the SeaShore on June 30th. We were seated promptly outside on the patio. The ambience was pleasant enough, although I observed the dingy wood planked walls that could use some fresh paint. There were enough shoddy and dated...details in the decor to inspire a complete makeover. The service was good overall. The waiters were friendly and attentive. In fact the diligent waitstaff is the restaurant's only saving grace. I wish I could offer equal praise of the food, but it garners no more than the term “lackluster” for its description. Of the 3 entrees ordered, the shrimp and scallop dish was in most need of seasoning. Even the natural sweetness associated with fresh seafood could not mitigate the languid flavor. My prime-rib was tender and flavorful but disappointingly served with a meager amount of jus that should have been sifted and thickened. My Lobster tail was tough and the breadcrumb topping was congealed into a stale membrane. Probably the most disappointing and telling of the restaurant's standards are the accompanying sides and house salad. Our baked potatoes resembled blank Mr. Potatoheads wrapped in aluminum. They didn’t even have the welcoming butter filled slits one looks forward to when ordering potatoes of this variety. The house salads were made up of the palest iceberg lettuce and a few scattered tomatoes. I poured a blanket of dressing over the pitiful stems in a glossy layer of hope knowing it would compensate. I couldn’t further this list without coming off as ridiculous and deviating from the main point which was our bill of $133.00. Overpriced for what we received. The overpriced meals are also the impetus for this review. Ultimately I'd love the SeaShore to improve. It is a Bronx landmark with a beautiful waterfront view. A source of nostalgia for people who grew up here. Get your act together.More
Great service, good food, did i say really great service. We had two lobster dinners, grilled tuna, grilled swordfish, and calamari appetizer. No disappointment here.
They never disappoint. Food is great, drinks are great and the service is the best to be found anywhere. The servers go out of their way to accommodate you over and above normal limits. I can’t say enough about this place and can’t wait to...go back. I’ve been a patron for more than 40 years.More
You are always greeted warmly by both the valets and staff of this restaurant. Service is excellent. Delicious vege plate and bread appears as soon as you sit down! Drinks are generous and well mixed. There are so many seafood choices on the menu it...is very hard to choose. Everything is cooked to your order and yummy. I so want to have dessert but am so full eating 1/2 of my entree that I haven’t been able to try any of the luscious looking treats! Next time I am starting with dessert. This is a great restaurant to enjoy with friends.More
We started by ordering mix drinks, they were so bad that we had to send it back for another one, that was bad too, so we gave up. I think only beer or wine might be a better choice. We ordered surf & turf, the...portions are very generous and 2 people can easily share an entree. Our lobster and steak were cooked to perfection. They also serve good bread accompanied by some appetizers which were delicious. The service was attentive and excellent. We would go back for food, not drinks.More
I felt like I had come home to this Jewel in City Island - I celebrated all my birthdays here when I lived in the Bronx and it was exactly as I remembered it - the twin lobster tail seashore with crab meat stuffing was...as superb as I remembered it - the appetizers, the salad EVERYTHING I tasted was wonderful tasty and fresh - The extra creamy Pina Colada WOW!! Honorable mention to our AWESOME waiter Manny 2 - he was the BEST!!More
Every location on City Island charges about the same, but I feel this place is actually worth it. It's the best of them all. I like to go and eat and I like to get food around the holidays.
At first I thought the prices were rather high. But then a large plate of snacks to start with arrived: olives, marinated mushrooms, an eggplant dish, etc. plus 3 types of bread including garlic bread. My dish (sole meuniere) was very good and plenty. My...wife's avocado crab salad as well. We both took half of it home. The margarita was also good. Service was attentive. We were sitting on the deck which was very pleasant despite the occasional shooting from the shooting range across the water.More
Catching up on old times with good friends in a very relaxed and not rushed lunch. The service was attentive and their teamwork was evident. Stuffed clams and fried calamari were perfect for appetizers with well made drinks. The salmon and fried scallops for the...main lunch choices were prepared perfectly and the portions were impressive. All capped off with fresh coffee and desert as part of the lunch special made this a memorable lunch and a chance to spend time with good friends. Definitely recommended.More

Me and my family were looking for a restaurant to celebrate a 50th birthday. Someone recommended the Seashore Restaurant. So I looked up the reviews. The only negative that I really noticed was the service. But in picking a restaurant service is a plus but...the food is what you really pay for. So I picked the Seashore because the birthday girl wanted to sit outside on the water. When we arrived the restaurant was very busy which indicates that they are doing something right. When we got to the table, to my surprise they had balloons on the table. I asked the waiter if there was a charge for this. He smiled and said we do this for all birthdays as long as they notify us that it's a birthday. It was a beautiful night. We just watched the sunset. And we watched the boaters coming in from a day of fishing. We ordered our food and the portions were huge. Their broiled seafood extravaganza, we couldn't believe our eyes. The fish of the day was a large portion and I myself couldn't finish it. If you love to eat, there is no better place than the Seashore. A whole bread and a antipasto is served as soon as you sit down. I think that we will celebrate ever birthday at the Seashore. That's why I took the time to write this review. And as far as the service is concerned, considering how busy they were I thought the service was very good. The wait staff even took the time to sing Happy Birthday. A gem in the bronxMore
My Family and I had a horrible experience at this restaurant. The waiter was rude and dismissive when we told him that we were ready to order. Our food took a while to come and when it did it was lukewarm. We never saw the...waiter after the dinner came until we complained to a so called manager. We explained to the manager about what was going on and his response was "What do you want me to do." I have never been to a place that was so horrible to their customers and I promise I will never return.More
We went in and was greeted at the door by a seater who very unenthusiastic said I'll find you a place. The place was only half full. It went downhill from there. Our "waiter" who only showed up at the beginning of the meal and...at the end to get our check was excusing himself for not being more present at the end. I ordered the oysters oregano. Ehhhh! The lobster had no flavor. It felt like a buffet without a real cook. The ribs were good. The lack of seasoning on anything just felt very disappointing. At the end of the meal I requested the crab shells (they will know who I am by this) to be wrapped up. The table runner laughed but I told him I wanted to make soup of them. 15 minutes later I asked where they were and he thought I was kidding. I told the waiter at the end. He just basically chalked it up to the runner being young. The one other thing that was good were the white beans on the plate of starters. The bread was really good. New England clam chowder is recommended. The drinks are weak though. Please go down further the Island for better food. The management also need to be aware that the table runners need not to ask every 5 minutes if we were done with our plates. They should be aware of the protocol of if the plate is on the edge and empty they should take it away. I also only asked the calamari to be wrapped. They wrapped in a huge container 3 small oyster that were not eaten. They really need to look at cost of what was done. Please eat elsewhere.More
