The dishes and soup we ordered were extremely tasty, and our waitress was attentive. Too much wasted food accompanied these, and the server tended to ask us to pass along dishes and finished food instead of walking around our booth. The wasted stuff was lamentable.

You are not missing much by not coming to city island....it is overpriced, and for the masses who would rather pay a premium for sub-par food than take a drive to Portland Maine or down to Delaware/Maryland for some real good seafood.

Food was wonderful and plentiful. All the food was seasoned very well and perfect. We sat outside and the weather was great. parking was simple and free. Will go again very soon.

Was there yesterday and was excited but started off bad. Went to use bathroom to discover male & female employees in bathroom either having sex or using drugs. Then waiter screwed up the bill. Food was greasy, especially sweet potato fries which defeats the purpose....Then waiter demanded a larger tip. We spent over $300 over priced! On the way out we encountered an employee who yelled at us to get out because of our low tip? Waiter must have complained to him smh. Never going back!More

Nice atmosphere and great selection of seafood. Wide variety of entrees and appetizers so that everybody in the group will be happy.

I ordered the lobster which was absolutely tasteless for being a broiled lobster. Extremely expensive place for the quality of the meal. There is a long wait, and this place is very noisy. I would never return to eat here again.

We had a very enjoyable lunch. They offer a large menu- seafood, salads, Italian dishes, soup, desserts and coffee. In addition we were served complimentary-on a board crusty bread, corn bread, wedge of cheddar cheese and a relish tray. With our meal also complimentary we...got rice and corn on the cob. I ordered baked filet of sole with baked potato and a side salad. My husband had the crab cake dinner with linguini and a side salad. Everything was delicious and the servings were quite generous. For dessert we shared a slice of chocolate fudge cake - a bit over priced. We brought home enough food food another meal. In addition we had very attentive service. We look forward to eating here again.More

We travelled all the way from Manhattan for dinner and was left very disappointed. The fried snapper was dry and unseasoned. Inedible!

We arrived early evening and were shown to a booth. One thing I noticed is when I take photos is if I don’t use the flash, everything is bathed in a sickly pink light. Our waiter was fantastic. We ordered starters - fried oysters, clam...strips and calamari. There is so much food. For main courses, we ordered Chef’s special broiled combination, fried cod and something else I don’t remember. So the meal is - bread, cornbread and pickles - salad with choice of dressing - starters - main meal So much food. I do love the crusty bread and pickles. We took a lot of it home. It was a pleasant experience in the lovely surroundings of City Island.More

Took mom and my brothers to sammy’s, they did not disappoint. The piña coladas are overpriced but the food makes up for it. Good service and valet parking.

Prices are high and quality is mediocre to poor. The huge volume of extras (bread, cornbread, cheese, crudités, olives, corn, rice,..) does not make up for the fact that the food is very poor quality - especially at these prices. Most disappointingly, the seafood is...not fresh - neither were the crudités or olives! Would not recommend and will certainly not return.More

My family loved City Island Restaurant because we love sea food. Yesterday, my wife has few friend from overseas and she choose to go their. The ride is too long from my house which is OK with me but if for something to remember it...will be OK. It is food we can eat better very close to my house. The service is number one for me at any place I go. It was not the best service. It look the place is very busy for that. The food was not the one you drive long time for, if you have sea food close to your house. Please go there.More
