The restaurant is amazing. Sits on top of the post office with an amazing skyline view. Zona de Cuba has great food, a great atmosphere with a staff to match. Alexander and his team are Simply the Best!

I came with a group of 17 for dinner last Sunday and this was by far the worst place I’ve ever been to. If you don’t believe me, ask my guests, they all agree. To start, we waited 45 minutes for a table after we...were threatened with a charge of $20 per person for tardiness. After being seated, our server proceeded to ignore us for the majority of the night. After waiting quite a bit, we received our pre-made salads and 3 extremely small and disappointing balls of croquettes. This was before even getting our waters… It took our server another 30 minutes to bring those. After an hour of waiting, the server finally came back around to ask for our drink orders, when they finally arrived, ALL OF THE CUPS WERE DIRTY…. We had to be served in plastic cups. The order for our food took another 30 minutes to be taken and some of it even arrived cold. The prefixed dessert menu sent to me before the event promised 3 options but they unfortunately only delivered on two. I will add that the Tres Leche was great but overall this was the absolute worst experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant. I will not be back and will make it my personal duty to warn everyone I can, especially the people that have “heard such great things”. If you’re wondering why this would be personal, it was my mothers birthday and it hurt to see her so disappointed. Being that the reservation was made with their events manager, Frida, I was expecting a bit more care and attention. At the very least, proper communication and full transparency. 0/10More

Hello, I visited Zona de Cuba for the first time last week and I encountered a very unpleasant situation with one of your employees. I had a reservation for 830 but my party was incomplete so we had to wait in order to get seated....When my party was complete They took us upstairs and everyone had been very loving and kind until then. Once we got upstairs there was a hostess by the name of Ashley who made me and my party wait over one hour by the bar. I walked up to her in three different occasions asking her how come other people were walking in and being seated and we had been waiting over one hour. She didn’t give me a specific reason as of why all she said is you have to wait. After one hour of waiting me and my party proceeded to sit right in front of her because we were ready to walk out at this point. Then a different hostess by the name of Samantha noticed us and asked Ashley how come we were still waiting and she proceeded to reply “I don’t know”. Our overall stay was decent. The live music, the food, and the waitress Where excellent. However, Ashley’s attitude towards me and my party was very unprofessional and almost made us walk out. Had it not been by Samantha we would have probably ended up at a different venue. I hope this issue gets addressed because i would hate for anyone to experience such horrible service at such a beautiful venue.More

Overall I had the best time! It is a beautiful place! Food was good music was great! Due to the size of my group I’m guessing that was the reason for the less than stellar service because everything else was superb

Bartender literally ignored my partner and I, we were the first ones at the bar when she arrived (Rose) somehow she by passed us taking the gentleman’s order who got their shortly after us. Then she was so antisocial only with my partner and I...(two females). An additional tip was left being that she is pregnant and I’m a server who is aware the tip included is shared between herself and other staff members working that evening. We didn’t even receive a Thank You!!!! The food however was great as it always is. This is the second time we go to this place, the food is great. Service NOT so GREAT!!!More

The ambiance and everything was amazing. Drinks were on point and food was delicious. However this was the first time my friends and I visited this establishment and we had the worst experience from the server. Clearly once she introduced herself it was evident that...she was high; either she was smoking or taking something. She rushed us to place our order and the list goes on. Fast forward to our bill we paid in cash directly to her. While we were finish dining and taking pictures we were approached and told that we didn’t pay our bill. I said to her I paid you directly and she was adamant that I didn’t pay her because she was around the back. We insisted they run the camera. Only for her to check her books and realized we paid and only for her to say we good. Now after battling with her about paying our bill and bringing so much attention to us at the restaurant from other guest all she could have said is we good. That’s unacceptable we deserved an apology not no damn we good. Their was a guy maybe a supervisor not sure but he was very unprofessional and disrespectful. He kept on dismissing us after we told him we paid. The only person we got an apology from was a female lady that greeted us downstairs when we were coming in. Will we visit here again? Maybe…. But the server clearly runs some scam and never knew who she was dealing with.More

This place is enormous, its located on the roof top of an old bank. We had to take the elevator up to the restaurant. The ambience is very delightful, the restaurant is indoors and outdoors, we sat inside just to get the full view of...the restaurant at a high table right by the kitchen. There was a live band playing and people dancing and singing. The drinks were very good , the food was delicious and the staff were great. I had the shrimp, two of my friends had steak and my other frind had the red snapper in coconut rice, shrimp, clams and scallops, she let me taste a piece, it was amazing, I will order that next time. The food is a bit pricey but if you want to treat yourself to some delicious Cuban food, then go to Zona De Cuba, it's worth it.More

My wife and I wanted a place to go for brunch on our anniversary and she was recommended Zona De Cuba. I was skeptical (I usually am about new places) but I was surprised. The atmosphere is great, the service was great and the food...was outstanding. Our waitress was knowledgeable about the menu and answered our questions and was very attentive. She didn't take too long to check on us. We ordered the chicken empanadas and French toast with Sangria. The food was better than advertised. I would highly recommend trying this restaurant and we'll be back. Be aware finding the restaurant was tricky because it is at the back of the building off 149th St. and you have to Valet park $20.More

Had 8:30 reservations, was there on time only to wait over an hour and have the hostess. Call up larger groups that had reservations for later times. The drinks were horrible, the food wasn't all that everything over priced. Then while our food had arrived...the hostess had the nerve to come and ask us to move to another table. While we are getting served, seriously SMH. The only good thing was our waitress Natalia..More

As it goes for ambiance, food and music Zona de Cuba gets A++ across the board! The food was delicious and plentiful, the live musicians we great and the dj played a great mix of Latin music. I loved the playfulness of the Menu making...the names of our traditional Cuban dishes slightly risqué. I have one bone to pick though, the "masitas de puerco" were not pork chunks, or not by the traditional sense, they were chicharrones! They tasted great, but it was not what I was expecting. Besides this one minute detail, this place was fantastic and glad I celebrated my birthday dinner there!More

I came here to understand what the fuss was about and also to try their food as I'm a foodie. Their decor is definitely beautiful and their food was great but it did not wow me. The drinks definitely were good. My complaint is the...lack of service. Their seems to be a miscommunication between staff members and no one seems to know where their assigned or what their doing not whom their serving. First of after being sat down it took them at least 15 min to approach the table and see if we wanted drinks, once order was in our host comes back 20 min later and asks us OMG you guys haven't gotten your drinks yet! She knew it was way too long. Anyways this host of ours was impossible to keep track of. I have no idea how many different servers, waiters I had to stop because our table wasn't given any of the utensils plates that were needed. Like I shouldn't have to tell you we need plates for appetizers for a party of 10. On numerous occasions we had to remind her that we had ordered drinks and she had to go back and forth to the bar every time we ordered drinks because they just couldn't get it right. As far as dessert they never offered a menu nor asked if we wanted to order. We were there for a birthday and of course you always get one for the birthday person which we ordered but every thing was time consuming like wait 20 min to get 1 plate of tres leche to then order again another 3 plates because the server failed to ask if anyone else in the table was ordering. You guys really need to up your level of customer service if you expect people to continue to come back. As far as dress code goes you can literally wear whatever you want yet when you call they give you a specific dress code. We were way over dressed for this place. And I dont want to hear the excuse that because of covid you have limited staff. If that's the case then your restaurant shouldn't take that many people if you cannot handle it. The kitchen was fully staffed and they definitely made it work. Matter of fact the only one's that got things right was them. I really wanted to like this place.More

Recently celebrated a promotion with a group of co-workers at Zona de Cuba. The atmosphere, service, and overall experience were amazing! The rooftop space provided enough room for all to feel secure and physically distanced without diminishing the the ability to socialize. The food, drinks,...and staff left nothing to be desired. Highly recommended.More
