About
Chateau on the Lake is located in upstate New York on Lake George, and is more than a dining establishment -- it's an experience. Our clients visit our property for at least 3 hours, select from our wine list, sit by the fire pit, savor a three to four course meal, and end their evening with coffee/after dinner drinks by the fire pit while roasting s'mores. Chateau on the Lake has been open since 2013, and we have quickly became a popular establishment, sold to capacity night after night. We are a great place to book your wedding. A memorable time is assured when you visit Chateau on the Lake. We hope to see you soon. We also now offer rooms that can be rented nightly. The rooms are located

Evan our waiter was fantastic and we went here for our 18th wedding anniversary, cocktails and the 16 ounce prime rib was outstanding, cooked to perfection. Great evening.

Loved this spot! My husband and I stopped for drinks and apps on our anniversary before heading to another spot for dinner. In retrospect we wish we had stayed and enjoyed our whole night here. We were warmly welcomed by the hostess and then the...bartender, as we were lucky to grab a couple of bar seats. They have an interesting cocktail list, and I ordered mine with a couple of tweaks which our bartender AJ was happy to oblige, and he nailed it. We also ordered a few things off their appetizer list - beef carpaccio, calamari and a small charcuterie - and all were very good. The dining room is beautifully decorated, with a cozy, casual elegance. There is a lovely view of the lake across an expansive lawn and outdoor dining area. We had a great experience and will definitely be back for dinner soon!More

We went to Chateau on the Lake for dinner, we did not have reservations but Mark the host allowed us to sit at the bar at a high top table with just the 2 of us, so it was like a private dinner table. Many...different wait staff came over to check on us to see if we need water, if we needed more wine served, And they were all so friendly we got to know all their names, Mark was the host, Freddie was a waiter, Even was the bar staff and Moreland was a waitress and Caitlin was a helper. The friendliness of the staff was such a pivotal wonderful part of our evening. The food was delicious and the baked clams and lamb lollipops were just exceptional. Evan made us delicious dessert drinks. Upon departing we were hugging everybody goodnight, it was a wonderful evening with such a marvelous experience. Would recommend for anybody visiting in the area that wanted good food among good people. Great karma and wonderful food at this place, which is such a rare delight!More

A cute spot in Bolton Landing for dinner on the lake. We had the lobster bisque, lamb lollipops, chateaubriand, and red snapper. The appetizers were very good. The meals were average. Nice atmosphere.

Oh my gosh, happy hour charcuterie board is amazing. My wife and I have had charcuterie‘s everywhere in this is by far the best. Super quality meats and cheeses and very generous portion.

Charming Restaurant with lots of atmosphere. It was our anniversary and the staff had decorated our table with rose petals and a congratulations sign. The service was impeccable. The food is expensive here but most people should know this before they come. We started with...the wedge salad and shrimp cocktail, both excellent. The steaks were cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. Fabulous desserts which had “Happy Anniversary” displayed on both. Definitely appreciate the special attention!More

I have eaten here before. Very pretty ambience, food is good. Not outstanding. Menu was always high priced, but now they are charging $125 a head to pick 3 courses from there menu. My recommendation is to take your money elsewhere. Definitely not worth it.

Dined here this week for a friend's 53rd birthday. The food ruined the night. We were each paying $55 per entree and the food was bland, tasteless and dry/overcooked. The crab stuffed flounder - the flounder was not fresh and the crab tasted like cheap...canned crab. And the beurre blanc sauce? Do they know what a beurre blanc is? This was a heavy tasteless white gravy. It was disgusting. Honestly, it was something you'd expect if you ordered crab stuffed flounder as a special off a diner menu. Clearly, there is no chef in the kitchen, it's a line cook. Sorry, but have NO BUSINESS charging $55 an entree without a chef in the kitchen. AND to add insult to injury, they talked up the tiramisu - the grandmother was in town from Sicily and made it. It had ZERO mascarpone in it - it was dry ladyfingers soaked in the rum/espresso with no cream component. We walked out so disgusted. We were starving after a $300 meal.More

While staying at the Sagamore, this was one of the places we selected (based on TripAdvisor ranking) to have a nice dinner to celebrate a birthday. The Château exceeded our expectations, I truly look forward to returning! Not only was Laina, our server, friendly, welcoming...and helpful in making choices from the menu, everyone at the restaurant - including the owner as we finished our meal – made sure we had a special celebration experience. We dined inside gazing out the window towards the lake, the ambience was just perfect, feeling as we imagine a French château would be. The food was excellent too. We started with a delicious watermelon martini with the beet salad and the carpaccio, then for entrees we had chicken francese and the lobster salmon - yes, a seared salmon topped with lobster - very yummy! We finished with the chocolate torte and the raspberry-lemon cake, adorned with a special birthday wish. We truly enjoyed this former house turned into a restaurant, off the beaten path of this popular Lake George Bolton Landing area, and will definitely return. We certainly recommend this to everyone! Bravo 👏🏻More

The place is in a beautiful location. When we were seated the chairs bottomed out needs to be changed. We had drinks they’re good. For the apps we had spinach beat goat cheese salad still looking for the cheese. I had the halibut good sauce...was cold, wife had chicken scallopie it was a Brest . If this was in the top restaurant in the USA colluded fooled me. I’m willing to bet they don’t get a lot of repeat costumes anymore. Service was very slow we sat without drinks between apps Ann dinner. As a mater of fact our wine came in the middle of dinner. So if like us looking for a experience like we were lol elsewhereMore

Went here last Thursday while staying at the Sagamore. Made sure I made a reservation a couple of weeks in advance as they are pretty booked during the summer. Great location in the heart of Bolton Landing, down a long driveway off of the main...drag. Great service, good wine list, good menu, good for kids too. My wife and I got the strip steak special which for some reason was listed as "Market Price" on the menu. My 12 year old daughter got the same dish but was able to get the kids version, or half the steak. My wife and daughter were raving over the truffle mashed potatoes like it was the best they ever had. I have to say the way they cooked the steak was absolutely amazing, one of the better strips I ever had albeit pricey at $60. Would definitely come back next time in town. We ate inside as it was raining but they have tables on the back patio overlooking the lake as well as a big tent.More

I really do - the lack of acknowledgment, the disregard of care only show their true hospitality goal - taking advantage of guests. We had such an awful time here celebrating my brother's graduation. Simply put (as it's clearly not worth putting in to words),...I was embarrassed to book, hype it up to my husband and brother, and honestly look forward to an evening that would end in such horrid circumstances. I only wish there was a manager that would care enough to reach out to hear me out - forget a refund, not what I'm after. This was embarrassing.More

Most reviews focus on the dinners, but their breakfast/brunch/lunch menu is also delicious and nowhere as expensive as their dinners. We had a lovely experience yesterday and with very few people there, it appears that the Chateau's noonish foods have not been eaten by many....My wife had the lobster frittata and loved it. i was going to try the lobster benedict but I asked and it's made with cream, which i can't have, so I switched from breakfast thoughts to lunch thoughts and tried the Fish & Chips. It was a very unusual but delicious version of that standard.More

There are many gluten free options. A great portion of the menu items can be prepared gluten free. For example, the Chefs Cut, exclude the spices from the meat and the steak is then gluten free. There are many other examples. More
