Chateau on the Lake is located in upstate New York on Lake George, and is more than a dining establishment -- it's an experience. Our clients visit our property for at least 3 hours, select from our wine list, sit by the fire pit, savor a three to four course meal, and end their evening with coffee/after dinner drinks by the fire pit while roasting s'mores. Chateau on the Lake has been open since 2013, and we have quickly became a popular establishment, sold to capacity night after night. We are a great place to book your wedding. A memorable time is assured when you visit Chateau on the Lake. We hope to see you soon. We also now offer rooms that can be rented nightly. The rooms are located

My two friends and I ate here last night and I could not be more pleased. Our server was delightful. Our meals were delicious. And the setting was absolutely divine. I would travel back to Bolton Landing just to eat here again. Five stars.
Ok, so the place is beautiful, and mostly, the food was great. Yet, the cavalier, otherwise stated, dangerous disposition of the server, who claimed all entrees were or could be gluten-free, yet served a gluten entree to a table of two people sharing dishes when...one of the party is definitively gluten-free due to celiac but failed to alert the table of this, is really uncaring. Which makes the restaurant NOT JUST WORTH THE EXTREMELY HIGH PRICES, but actually dangerous--especially when you walk away SICK because of bad service. NOT a great place. Super pretentious and ARROGANT. I wish I knew before going that they were not thorough and lazy.More
What a pretty setting on a beautiful fall evening. Our waiter was excellent and unassuming. So nice. The beet salad and clam chowder were okay, which was surprising but the steak and ravioli were so so good. The key lime pie for dessert was a...light and fluffy treat. The restaurant is quite pricey so be prepAred!! Definitely great for a special treat!More
A member of the staff at our hotel highly recommended this place when I asked where to go for something really special with a couple of my closest friends both of whom have been through some very tough times with the current pandemic. She said...this place has it all, the great food, the views, the atmosphere. I must say, she certainly got it right!! The Chateau on the Lake is set on a beautiful spot right on the lake but with enough room, like a lawn, to have some Adirondack chairs and a couple of fire pits. The string of lights made it all the more beautiful.
As for our dinner, we each tried different entrees (truffle mushroom ravioli, swordfish, red snapper) and each dish was very well made we couldn’t decide which one was our favorite! Service was prompt and very courteous which made the whole experience truly wonderful.More
Made a reservation for Boyfriend’s birthday. The place is really nice and beautiful. Love the little pathway of lighted candles when you walk out to the outside tables, the views, the decor. However i feel they need to step up their service. The girl who...was taking care of us wasn’t sure about what kind of beers they had. I feel my halibut needed a bit more salt which I couldn’t find at the table nor my waiter to bring it. My bf had to send back the steak bc it wasn’t cooked how we asked so I finished eating while waiting for his food. It was a bit chilly but we wanted to eat outside and with a baby we needed to be as close to the heaters as possible. Lucky for us one of the other workers noticed we were still cold so he asked if we wanted the heater higher and of course we said yes. That helped a lot! Thanks again!!
I feel for the money you pay food and service needs to be on point. Maybe bc it was a Thursday night they didn’t have the best staff idk I’ll give the benefit of the doubt.More
We came here for our 15th anniversary and really enjoyed our meal, service, and ambiance.
We were seated outside with a lake view. It was already chilly at night but the heating lamps were perfect and kept us warm. My husband’s filet was so good....The honey walnut soup was delicious. For dessert we had the Carmel cheesecake which was incredible. I highly recommend this place. Probably the best restaurant in Bolton Landing. On Lake George.More
Very pretty outdoor seating which was great. Lovely lovely view! The host man (Asian features/blonde hair) is very unpleasant. Our waitress was wonderful and accommodating! AND.The food was truly delicious, making the very expensive prices a bit justifiable. Desert was also terrific. Overall good experience...(with the exception of the host.) I'm sorry it took me so long to write the review!More
After not going out for a really good dinner in months because of COVID, we were excited to try this recommended place while vacationing. The Food Network thing confirmed our decision. We had a cocktail and calamari which was good. I ordered the “chefs cut”...which was ny strip and my spouse the halibut. The food came so quickly, we didn’t finish the calamari or cocktail. My steak was prepared medium as requested, with Demi glacé, but it was barely warm. It came with basic mashed potatoes and brocollini. A very average dinner. The halibut looked good but was undercooked and Cold! As was the pea mint sauce (not the best combo) and 3 carrots. Our glass of wine showed up after dinner. We felt very rushed. The outdoor setting was nice but the metal chairs lacked any comfort.(guess they didn’t want us to linger). It was expensive and disappointing. You can get the same down the street. If the meal was average and hot I would have given 3 stars.More
There are many gluten free options. A great portion of the menu items can be prepared gluten free. For example, the Chefs Cut, exclude the spices from the meat and the steak is then gluten free. There are many other examples. More
