Great food, great service! It's on the expensive side, but is traditional German food. The potato pancakes are amazing, kids' portions are huge. The waitress was the best we had on our entire vacation in the area. I'd definitely come back!

We had a wonderful dinner at Pumpernickel's. Great choices of German beer - we had the Weizen and Octoberfest and both were good. The dinner was awesome - we shared the Mayor's Platter which was a sampling of the most popular dishes. Included bratwurst, Wiener schnitzel, sauerbraten and roast pork, along with potato pancakes, red cabbage, spatzle and sauerkraut. There... More

Owner met us in the bar while we were on our phones waiting to be seated. Our reservation was at 7pm and they still hadn't seated us at 7:30. He proudly told us he have not cell service or wireless and that people should get off their phones while in his Resturant. He had the AC on so high I... More

My family has been coming to the Lake George region for our family vacation for 21 years in a row. "Pumpy's", as we call it, is one of our favorite places to eat. When the kids were little, they loved the large cuckoo clock. Now they just can't wait for the food. Excellent German food with large portions - you... More

Genuine German Cuisine. The recipes in many cases have been handed down through the family to the Chef. Filling soup (1) and salad bar. Mostly German pickled salads besides norman green salad fixings. Save room for dessert! Schnitzels, sauerbraten, schweinebraten, rouladen, it was all good. For dessert we had the chocolate cake/cheesecake combo. The two of us couldn't finish it... More

This is one of our family's favorite restaurants in Bolton. Very delicious, homestyle German (or, depending on choice, not so German) food - kind servers - great beers. We bring the family several times each year and are never disappointed - the schweinbrauten and sauerbraten (both misspelled I'm sure) are in particular always great, as are the homemade spaetzle. Highly... More

Dined on July 25, 2015. Excellent attentive service, terrific menu and wonderful food. The steak was cooked perfectly and was delicious The pork tenderloin wrapped in bacon with pan juices was presented nicely and was delicious. The prices are fair and we look foward to dining again at this great restaurant.

We eat at Pumpernickel's every time we come to Lake George. The food, beer, wine. staff and chief's are first class. This restaurant has a great atmosphere for everyone. The friendly staff is attentive. I can't tell you which dish is the best yet because I haven't gone through their vast menu yet. You will not be disappointed.
