Number 5 is definitely a place to go to for special occasions (birthdays, anniversaries, etc). The food, atmosphere, and service is exceptional. Our waitress was awesome and made our family feel welcome. The prices are up there ($40+ for steak) but for a classy dining experience that is to be expected. The quality of the food and execution of the... More

We love this restaurant. Steaks are consistently the best in the Binghamton area. Ambience is nice too since it's in an old firehouse. Service is always on point and severs are nice. They also give you a free meal (up to $30) when you purchase another meal for birthdays and anniversaries. Highly recommend Number 5!

Upstairs is more fine dining. Nice and decent food for decades. Downstairs is less stuffy. Extensive bar menu w burgers, chicken, and salads in the $8-15 range. Happy Hour is 4-7, and features cheap eats and beer/wine. The $15 cobb salad is huge and topped w chicken. Lobster Mac & cheese is also $15ish, but rather small. Burgers are consistently... More

Great appetizers, great drink specials The appetizers are incredible ....Shrimp with a horseradish and honey sauce oh so delicious. Yummy spring roles and crisp glass of chardonnay. Meals at Number 5 are always a special treat. Each one prepared to perfection!

Believe the positive things folks have said. Seared tuna appetizer was great. The Seafood bisque was flavorful. The bone-in fillet was juicy and cooked just as I'd ordered. Even on a busy, Halloween themed evening my server was attentive. I'd definitely head back again if I'm in town in the future.

My family is a very consistent customer of this restaurant and we have good reason to be. We come very often for family celebrations, and we are never let down. Great food and service. I normally get the Filet Mignon and it is always cooked perfectly. I would also recommend the corn chowder. For dessert they have a killer creme... More

I have been a patron of #5 Restaurant since it opened and first advertised lobster dinners for $5.55. That was many decades ago, and it has changed management, but it has remained a very classy place with great service, and great food. Jim McCoy and his management staff constantly strive to be consistent, keep on top of things, and are... More

Dinners here were quite good - exceeded expectations. Very large menu. Mostly meat, but some seafood also. Meals include salad and sides. Everything we ate was terrific. Prices are a bit more than you expect to pay, maybe $25-$60 per entree. Very nice staff. Refurbished fire station complete with pole between upstairs and downstairs.
