I have been a patron of #5 Restaurant since it opened and first advertised lobster dinners for $5.55. That was many decades ago, and it has changed management, but it has remained a very classy place with great service, and great food. Jim McCoy and his management staff constantly strive to be consistent, keep on top of things, and are... More

Dinners here were quite good - exceeded expectations. Very large menu. Mostly meat, but some seafood also. Meals include salad and sides. Everything we ate was terrific. Prices are a bit more than you expect to pay, maybe $25-$60 per entree. Very nice staff. Refurbished fire station complete with pole between upstairs and downstairs.

We were five guys who had our dinner here. It was the best steaks we had in our US-trip and the waiter was great! Only minus was the cocktails which were a bit randomly good and bad.

Came up to visit our son at Binghampton University. This restaurant came highly recommended by our friends. It did not disappoint. One of the best service experiences I've ever had. Exceptional service, good menu and good food. This place definitely be compared to any top tier steakhouse in NYC or LI. Great experience!

As the saying goes, "you get what you pay for". Number 5 is a little cramped in eating space, the lighting makes it very difficult to read a menu, but the food is exquisite. We started with a simple spinach salad which had a delightful creamy bacon dressing. The appetizer was a lobster mac and cheese for the first time.... More

Unfortunately for us, we weren't as pleased as others with our visit to this restaurant. We've both lived in the area our entire lives and never tried Number 5, so we finally gave it a shot. 1. Pleasant atmosphere, nice music, white linens. Very classy and obviously a "special occasion" type of place. (Which this was for us.) 2. Waiter... More

We are sorry to hear of your disappointment the other night. We carry choice and prime steaks that are the highest grades of beef you can get. Neither of them, in any cut, are flavorless. All of our entrees come with complimentary bread and butter, complimentary soup or salad, and a complimentary side. It's hard to say that the quantities... More

Well for Binghamton it's very nice albeit pricey. Very nice venue. Former firehouse. Ok music offerings on the weekend. Parking is easy. Food. My first visit was Easter Sunday so idl to review restaurants on a holiday but it was good and the service was very good. I ordered their most expensive steak. Was disappointing. However I opted to return... More

This is one of my favorites. You will not find a more flavorful steak. Service is professional and excellent always. The restrooms are on the 2nd floor which can be a problem since there is no elevator. They always have good music on the weekends.

Party of two. Seated upstairs. We arrived early to beat the Saturday night dinner crowd that would certainly arrive after 6PM after the end of the pro golf tournament We were current with their Menu, having received a recent Newsletter that announced that they were serving a Lobster Special. It consisted of a 1+ lb whole broiled lobster plus corn... More

Thank you for the great detailed review! We annually offer the Lobster Bake during July and August. We do apologize that your server did not offer it, we will be sure to make note of that for next year. The cowboy steak is our Prime bone-in ribeye that is a very high end steak and has fantastic flavor. We strive... More

On the recommendation of friends who had attended Binghamton thirty years ago, we went to Number 5, a restaurant that had once been an old firehouse. The room was lovely, with a folk singer singing at the bar and the service was great. However everything we ordered tasted greasy! Well I did have an excellent baked potato but given the... More
