We had the buffet breakfast at the River Bistro, twice, while staying at the Doubletree/Binghamton. The buffet is beyond standard, having scrambled eggs, french toast, bacon, potato's, with various fruits, yogurts, juices, make your own waffle, pastries, bread. The service was great, both Nick and Sahra went above and beyond with customer service. Most hotels buffets are higher priced than... More

The brunch buffet put on at the River Bistro for Mother's Day was delicious! As we waited for all family members to arrive a few of us sat at the bar and were waited on by "Nick". Nick poured great drinks and was very congenial. We were quickly seated and walked the buffet. There was such a great variety of... More

By design hotel bar / restaurants serve middle-of-the-road food with limited creativity given guests who stay on property obviously prized either comfort or convenience over going out into the wider city looking for a hidden gem. By that standard, the bar here at the Double Tree excels with a somewhat cool menu and cooler staff. Horseradish stuffed shrimp wrapped in... More

Years ago I loved this place. Now it just seems overpriced and sad. I ordered a glass of wine that was actually undrinkable and they offered a French champagne drink that they didn't seem to know how to make. The atmosphere is still lovely,m but really, I'd rather walk down the street to Lost Dog or Burger Monday. Maybe they... More

The River Bistro is an unexpected jewel, tucked romantically along the water's edge, offering a warm, welcoming and cozy ambiance. The atmosphere is both energized and tranquil, as an enclosed well-stocked bar area stimulates light conversation with friends while the dining quarters cater to parties of two and more, encouraging a more intimate setting. The service at The River Bistro... More

Such amazing food I had to meet Chef Robert! Unique and unexpected for a hotel restaurant, but then the staff at the Doubletree never fails to deliver a great dining experience. And the bartender, Jen, makes the best martinis!

We had our company party here in the large meeting room, and the food was horrible. Unsure if they got a new chef or what the case was. For appetizers there were pretzels, crackers, Brie, and three different creamy cheeses. Needless to say everything was cold and disgusting. There were no warmers lite under the food. When we asked the... More

River Bistro, Double Tree Hilton in Binghamton NY: The best kept secret in Upstate NY. The hotel grounds were clean and parking was no problem. We didn’t stay at the hotel, however we met Michael, don’t remember his last name, who was very professional and congenial. The Bistro food was excellent. Service was very good, and the drinks were generous.... More
