Everything was top notch!
Before we even walked in a nice gentleman from the staff redirected us to an elevator because he saw that I had my elderly parents with us , and the stairs would be difficult .
The staff was caring and attentive !
The food was excellent as to expected!
I would recommend that if anyone needed to cater an event please look in to this place!

Came with friends for the lobster special. The restaurant is located in a mansion once belonging to early 20th century actor Rudolph Valentino. There are several rooms on the first floor that comprise restaurant. We sat near a window looking out on the Throgs neck bridge.
All of us enjoyed the lobster special. A large 2 pound lobster was served with saffron rice and carrots. We had Caesar salad and grilled octopus for appetizer for dessert we had tartufo and crème brûlée. The food was all delicious and the lobster was very meaty and perfectly cooked. Langlois champagne was a delicious accompaniment to the dinner.
The service was outstanding. Our waiter Cody was extremely helpful. He made our dinner very special. There is free parking.
The lobster special is $29 per person. Appetizers, dessert and beverages are extra.

This is an upscale Italian restaurant with very friendly staff and delicious food. A must try is the fried artichoke hearts. The shrimp scampi over linguine was tasty and has enough sauce to properly coat the pasta. The tiramisu was delicious. All portions were substantial

Went for Father's Day and had a great experience. Therefore decided to have graduation brunch there the following Sunday. Before leaving on Father's Day we went in and booked a 20 person reservation and were told we definitely had the reservation but the manager would call us if we wanted to explore pre fixe option which we said we would. We then called mid week as we had not heard from manager and was told they did not even have a reservation for us. It took calling and stopping by the place multiple times even to find that information out. While speaking to the woman there we were put on hold every two seconds. We never did speak to the manager. We were told to just look at menu on line and pick. We also noticed the forecast was for it to be very hot and humid that day so we requested it to be inside ( this was a few days in advance not last minute). They refused and would not give us a reason. On the day of the party the inside of the restaurant was very empty and there was no reason why they could not have moved us in. Instead we all sat outside sweating and hoping they would come refill our waters. No one wanted the coffee and dessert due to heat. It was an effort to get someone to order a drink from. The kids table even complained that they were not given an option for food and just handed chicken fingers and french fries. The food was great but they did not give us steak knives and I watched the guests struggle with cutting their steak. Twice I went to the bathroom and both times people were screaming at one another in the kitchen. It's shame as the place has potential to be amazing as the food is great and the atmosphere is nice when you are not sitting outside in hot and humid weather.

We were invited to our friend birthday party on Sunday. She announced lobster dinner. When it was the time to order food- our waiter said that there is no lobsters left! The " Birthday girl" asked for manager and explained that she specifically made reservation and made sure that lobsters will be available for the dinner. Manager said that they started to serve lobsters at 4 PM and by 6:30 PM they sold all of them. We had to order different food from menu. Food and wine was overpriced. The quality of food was average. The restroom in the restaurant was disgusting. The toiled was clogged and full of fecal material. The smell was terrible. Nobody seems to care to fix it. To make story shorter: the only service I liked in that place was valet parking. Never ever will come there again!

This is a review of Vivo's Restaurant and a study in bad customer service. On Sunday, December 16th, my husband and I took my son and his girlfriend to Vivo's restaurant in Bayside, for a holiday brunch. The restaurant was full of people celebrating Christmas and other occasions. Brunch was delicious and our waiter was great. At 2 am Tuesday morning I had violent nausea and vomiting. My husband also was nauseous. We found out our son also experienced vomiting and diarrhea and his girlfriend did too. A few days later my son (who had made the reservation) was called by the NYC Board of Health. Within the next 2 weeks all of us were interviewed at length by Board of Health representatives. Last Friday I called Vivo to talk to them about this. The manager with whom I spoke did not apologize to us for our horrible experience. Nor did she offer us a gift certificate to entice us to try the restaurant again. Nor did she offer us a refund. No, she only said the Board of Health cleared the restaurant! This was surprising because my son's girlfriend had her interview that day. I was completely stunned and told her that I was not the one who called the Board of Health so obviously there were other diners who were affected. She then told me she was a part-time manager and she would tell the owners to call and speak to me-I told her that that was a good idea and that I would not write a review of the restaurant for a week. I did not receive a call. Diner beware.

Everything was wonderful. from the below average salad, to the over done pasta to the horrible main course. To the burnt coffee. A place you should never visit. As you drive by wave.

Visiting the area friends suggested dining at Vivo. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with dark wood, crystal wall fixtures, and a front colored glass bar. Elegant! Service from Brian was personal despite his servicing several nearby tables. He was considerate of our requests and pleasant. The lobster and asparagus crepe with a velvet cream sauce was EXCELLENT loaded with lobster and light. The crispy artichoke appetizer was cooked well and was def crispy. Two diners had the lobster special with saffron rice with peas and asparagus. Well worth the price! The ÂĽ lb lobster was fresh. Another diner had the branzini (a small portion) accompanied with quinoa with mango and avocado. She raved how delicious and flavorful it was. A delightful highly recommended fine dining experience. Kudos to owner Gieto, who stopped by to say hello. Always a welcoming treat to have an owner on site to thank diners.

This was a second visit. Several weeks ago was there for first time with friends. Food was delicious, from the cocktails. large Mediterranean salad shared by three to the swordfish, chicken scarpariello and halibut. Most noteworthy though was our gracious, knowledgeable server Emily who was perfect. I requested her to be our server when I returned with my husband last night. Once again, she did not disappoint, with informed recommendations and making sure the courses were timed perfectly. We started with cocktails from a varied selection then moved on to the lightly battered artichokes and arugala/peach salad. For entrees, we had the lobster buccatini arrabiata and the cod crusted with paper-thin crunch potato on a bed of spinach. Portions were so delicious and plentiful that we brought some home as we couldn't finish them. Emily amazed us by remembering what my friends and I had eaten weeks earlier and that one of my party had foid allergies and how they were addressed. The hostess/manager visited our table twice last night to make sure all was to our satisfaction. I highly recommend Vivo! to all. You won't be disappointed.

My husband and I had tried Vivo on our own about a month ago. We we're a little disappointed with our entrees. The portions were small and not quite right flavor wise. We returned with another couple and decided to give it another try. The appetizers were good and the salads too. But again our entrees, very disappointed. My husband ordered chicken scarpello and the size of chicken cubes was very sad. Maybe 5 pieces the size of my thumb nail. My friend and I ordered eggplant parmigiana, and I have had much better at a local pizza place. Bottom line, don't bother dinning here.

There certainly cannot be a better way to celebrate an anniversary than to return to the place where it all happened and enjoy an excellent meal with best-in-class service.
My wife and I love the atmosphere of Vivo and I was pleasantly surprised when I ordered my drink (Chivas) to be asked if I wanted the 12 year or 18 year. No restaurant I have ever been to has offered me that option, and I really appreciated it.
Appetizers were excellent. Grilled octopus, plates beautifully with an explosion of flavors including pomegranate. Now, that's unique. Shrimp Saganaki, another original that sings of flavors with tomato sauce and feta. Lobster bisque with large pieces of lobster and a whole claw, wow.
Dinner - my wife had the grilled red snapper and I devoured the braised short ribs with three styles of mashed potatoes. What an incredible meal.
Of course, we were stuffed and had to dig deep to enjoy the desserts. Pistachio creme brûlée was very good, but the bread pudding takes the cake. Best ever and we could not put our spoons down.
Lastly, the hostess let us revisit the ballroom upstairs where we had our wedding reception 16 years ago to the day. No better way to finish off a romantic anniversary dinner.
Excellent food, great service and ultra-affordable prices will certainly bring us back again and again.
