Eaten here twice recently and had very good food both times. Sat outside the first time and the views over the garden and sunset are lovely on a summers eve. Not pretentious or expensive, just a nice place serving quality food and wine. sat watching a kestrel and Kite whilst dining, my kind of place!

We have been to this pub three times, twice for drinks and once to eat. The staff are friendly. The food is lovely and the views are stunning. Because of the size of the garden, it is a good pub to take children to, although inside is not a big area.

It was lovely to visit The Black Boy on Friday evening and to find it buzzing with people and families. We were warmly welcomed although they were busy. The staff were friendly and helpful as they always are at their sister pub in Long Crendon. The menu was imaginative and varied and we had a lovely meal. This has always... More

We visited this beautiful country pub for my mums birthday. It was absolutely lovely from beginning to end. The pub is lovely and clean in a beautiful location. The staff were very helpful and went out of their way to make our meal and time there wonderful. The food was delicious and lovely choice. Extra thanks go to the staff... More

We've been here twice so far this year; once with friends and more recently with family. The inside of the pub is lovely - smart but casual. However it's the views from the large beer garden that truly blow you away - I think they're the best I have come across in Bucks. They also allow (well-behaved) dogs, which we... More

Having been to other village pubs for sunday lunch and been really disappointed -My faith is restored -The food was delicious, the service was good -the price was competitive -wine reasonably priced -view from the garden icing on the cake. Oh and dog friendly as good garden area.

Having not visited for several years due to moving away, we had an opportunity to revisit and we just so loved our visit. The welcome on arrival together with service at table was really good and we will certainly look to visit again.

We met as a family for a celebration lunch. ALL staff were friendly and couldn't do enough to help us. The food was perfection, absolutely delicious from beginning to end. This is a long way from our home but worth every bit of the travelling, we all highly recommend this pub for its food/drink and lovely staff - oh, and... More

Had I not known this quaint little pub was here I would never have visited but after a road closure detour I had a very enjoyable lunch. Rib eye steak served with roasted cherry tomatoes, rustic fries, mushrooms and a totally gorgeous 3 peppercorn sauce, cooked to perfection and scoffed down with gratitude. Sweet had to be had after such... More
