Our second visit confirmed that the team here are accomplished and know what they are doing. The place was busy, which is usually a good sign and the ambience is pleasant. Apart from one minor service error, that was quickly and efficiently rectified, the evening ran smoothly. The amuse bouche (a broccoli and cauliflower concoction) was excellent as was the... More

We visited the restaurant for my husband's birthday and were so impressed with the food and service. The waiting staff were friendly and knowledgable about the food and wine. We did not try the tasting menu (we are already planning a return visit to enjoy this with the recommended wine pairings!) and chose from the main menu. There was a... More

This is a beautiful restaurant with excellent food. The whole experience was great, service, food and wine could not be better. Surprised to see such a classy restaurant so tucked away.

Fine dinning. good food, the portions are't big but the food is tasty . Personal service and nothing is too much trouble. Food is local sourced and is fresh. Nice surroundings in an lovely old building with exposed beams. Would book again for a special occasion. need to book as it is not a large restaurant.

A very old fashioned place with rather slow service. However the food was very good but a bit over priced for what it was. Interior is in need of a make over - rather tired looking considering the cost and the fine dining experience they are advertising. It manages to be neither a pub or a fabulous restaurant, somewhere between... More

We ended up there after our regular place was full, and fell in love with it. The food is excellent and the staff are a credit to them. We have been back several times and it never disappoints.

On learning that I was treating the lady to a surprise birthday lunch, they couldn't have been more helpful from start to finish. Deciding to have the tasting menu I asked if one of the dishes could be changed and if they could print a menu with no prices for the lady - no problem! (I probably shouldn't say this... More

I recently visited with my partner and had an amazing 3 course meal. The food was delicious the presentation was fantastic as was the service. The food was cooked to perfection and wasn't too much or too little.. just right for me. I left satisfied and smiling. I asked for a recommendation of wine to have with the lamb dish,... More

We go to the Chequers Inn on a regular basis. It really is one of the finest restaurants in Buckinghamshire. The food, service and atmosphere are truly outstanding. We went along to the recent Game Night which was a seven course meal with wine pairing, a memorable event. The menus are varied, food wonderfully prepared and presented, supported by an... More
