I went to the Five Elms for the first time a couple of week-ends ago and it was superb! Cannot fault it one bit. The staff were so warm and friendly (much nicer than those at the Bell at Hardwick!), the food was delicious. We were very well taken care off and that just made it for me. Compared to... More

Well presented pub. The food menu was perfect for the number of covers and was difficult to choose from the dishes available. Steak and kidney pudding was excellent as was the tuna ciabatta sandwich. The ale was also excellent. The proprietors friendly. Warning parking is limited.

One dish ruined this day, otherwise it would have rated 4* easily. The pub is lovely, fantastic flowers, cosy rooms, friendly proprietor. So it was a shock to have a dish which the kitchen must have known was awful. Belly pork dried out to a frazzle, tough, inedible disgusting. The chef must have been aware, in this case a complaint... Great friendly pub restaurant with homemade food along with a pleasant staff. It is known for Johns Steak and kidney pudding but have much more to offer . So if you want to get away from pub chain's restaurant then this is a place to visit.

My wife and I decided to go out for a meal and this place really stood out and we were glad we came. The service is really good, the food is really tasty and the portions are not small. In fact so much so that after a starter and a main each, we were both beaten (couldn't finish my main).

Had seen high reviews of this place - then saw online they did john's steak and kidney pudding my dads favourite (along with creme brûlée, his other favourite) so it was a no brainer to book and try it out. Meal came out piping hot with chips a cross between roast potatoes and chips that melted in the mouth -... More

I had an absolutely superb sirloin steak produced by a local farm butchers (Parrots in Whitchurch)with well cooked home made chips. An easy meal to get wrong especially as there were twelve of us all eating something different. As a one man band chef The landlord really works hard. Front of staff headed by landlady Carole cheerful and patient. I... More

Delicious varied menu Very generous portions too! Staff are super friendly. Would be a 5 for me if the food quality was of the standard of Hoxton grill 😊

Went for lunch with some American business colleagues who wanted something typically English! We booked last minute and all had a great experience starting with a warm and hearty welcome. The Chef Owner came to the table himself to propose the daily specials which was very nice and we gladly followed his advice! Simple, traditional dishes with a classy twist.... More
