Stopped here for lunch, my wife head a veggie burger cole slaw, my daughter had a ceasar wrap and I had a burger.
My wife's cole slaw was rancid. She tells the waitress ( the only redeeming factor id this place) she brings it back,...much discussion about how old it is, so they bring out A new one, not much better.
The meals had no flavor, the fries wetter so hot they couldn't be eaten.
Go to ciao by the mall.
P.S. it is 6 hours later I am still sick from lunchMore
Problem #1, sticky floors, should have left immediately
Problem #2, the highly touted margaritas tasted like watered down fruit juice
Problem #3, food was average at best. My wife had the chicken quesadillas which she said were ok but "cardboardish". I had the chimichanga which...was ok, nothing special.
Problem #4, it was definitely overpriced for the type of place it is
Problem #5, met friends later that weekend and told them about the experience, and they said they were having pest issues, which I wish i had known beforehand.
Maybe it was an off night for them but I've heard mixed reviews, mostly negative ones, not sure why we even went but we will most likely not be returning to Sunset Grill. Save your money and go to any of the many other options in Ballston Spa, Augies, Next Door Kitchen, Front St Social, Henry's, Leon's etc.More
Love the new look and menu. Food is always good, consistent and generous. Must try the quesadillas, ribs, pulled pork m, fresh salads and margaritas! Service is always good, especially when Karen is in the house! Not sure what any negative reviews are about, we...eat here several times a month & never have a complaint.More
A sign on the door alerts you that new management is not honoring the full value of Local Flavor vouchers, only what you paid for the voucher. Poor choice on a new business that appears to be doing quite nicely. Busy early dinner crowd with...from conversations with waitstaff seemed to be mostly repeat customers. Friendly atmosphere. Average service. I was disappointed in the smoked sausage chimichanga. It would have been GREAT but the sausage was definitely kielbasa. Perhaps they ran out of their in-house smoked choriza and andouille, but the sausage RUINED the dish. The jumbo bone-in wings were very good. If I ever went again, I would order wings and ask them to cook once more after adding the sauce. Then they miight just be the best ever wings. I would also order a steak fajita. In summary, nice friendly place for repeat customers.More
Under new ownership in February. We’ve been a few times since. Still some of the old favorites (pulled pork quesadillas, smoked corn chowder, onion rings, fried ice cream) and some new delights. My husband especially enjoys the chimichangas. The beer list has improved, too.
New faces, enhanced menu, glad to see us! Got to assume new owners and/or managers!?! Margarita choices have been expanded, menu a bit more diverse but the powerful quesadillas, tacos, etc. still there and having had one of each selection within our party the consensus...was GREAT. More appetizers to choose from, excellent service from the always smiling Karen. She put the icing on the cake for just a lovely afternoon!More
Been here a couple times now and honestly some of the best and well made quesadilla's I've ever had. Service was great, margarita's also did the job that night. Just nice to get something so simple, but yet executed so well. Kudo's to the chef.
