About
In response to a society that is moving ever so fast, when there is less personal communication between people, dining has become fast and casual, and everything is disposable, Ristorante Gemelli is a respite from the world, where guests can enjoy the moment, whether at the bar, Neopolitan garden patio hideaway, or the main Tuscan dining room. It is our mission and desire to transport our guests to one of the world’s most beautiful, stylish and delicious cultures from the moment they walk through the door. Our love of food, culture, and family is at the heart of everything we do.

So as we all are ordering from the delivery service and still supporting our local business I finally got arround to having door dash bringing me the only place I want to get local authentic Italian food from. First I gotta say I have been here before Covid (actually Feburary this year was my last visit.) and the food and service could not be better..I was really impressed. O.K. maybe a little pricy but the food was well worth it.Again food is incredible!. So delivery came and it was perfect.. just like being at the restorante the only problem... NO BREAD. Now I know bread does go stale fast and I know they make their own incredable bread but please give us a heads up that there will be no bread with the order. I cant even tell you the dissapointment I felt when I know I paid $50 + to have chicken marsella and a chopped salad and then...no bread. There was no option to order bread so I figured it came with it..just like allways. So if you want really good authentic Itialian food this is the place to go...however BYOB.

Always a pleasure to dine here. This family owned restaurant knows what a restaurant good food dining experience is all about. The tuscany rustic brick fireplace environment adds to the pleasure of being in this restaurant. Moderate pricing, good portions, Even have a small plate section on the menu. Nice bar up front. A place that I wouldnt come in with tee shirt and jeans for dinner. Food that you would expect your ole grandmother was making for you!

My husband and I went to dinner here this past Saturday night. It was very busy, but a great experience. We ordered the meatballs which were delicious, and a flatbread pizza, very tasty. I ordered the sea bass which was very tasty, really tender and delicious, I ate every bit. My husband got chicken scarpiello which he also cooks, so he is very picky. He said it was the best besides his! He really liked it. The waiter was attentive, and we overall really enjoyed the meal. It was paced perfectly, no rush at all!

Service was very unprofessional. Waitress kneeling on floor by our table and calling everyone " darling" After being brought to our table and sitting with drinks, we were told to move to another table right next to the bar. We were told they had reserved our table for other people. There were three empty tables right next to our original table that the other people could have sat who came an hour later. After waiting for our drinks, that were listed on the menu, the waitress came back later to tell my wife they could not make her drink. Did not have appetizers we ordered and when asked after all the inconvenience we encountered if they could substitute a vegetable for pasta the waitress mentioned it could only be due for an additional charge. Really disappointing way to treat customers. If thinking about a new place to go to eat, do yourself a favor and find some place else.

No wait on a Friday night. A table with a bench seat and chair positions the person in the chair way higher than the person on the bench, which is weird. You’re not eye level. Server was young. Brought the wrong soda. Took our order, served it, and vanished. Never checked to make sure the food came out okay. Never asked for refills on soda or wine. Another server packed our leftovers. He also asked if we would like dessert, but our server did actually take our order. Food was very good.

We had our annual dinner meet up at Gemilli's. The waiter was slow, didn't refill drinks. The food was terrible! The fettuccine with meatballs was dry. The shrimp scampi yuck! We really expected good food for the prices. Nobody was happy with their meal.

This neighborhood gem has been going strong in Babylon for 20 year In the center of an Italian diaspora center on Long Island. It must have good food to survive that long. It does. We have been making special journeys for many years and have enjoyed the charm of the wait staff, front desk and the owners. The chef too makes appearances to check on our comfort. Our recent visit the food was awesome. The sizable veal chop special with prosciutto and spinach and cheese was excellent and our waiter, the marvelous Ernesto split and plated it for 2 of us.Our guest had veal scalloping and a roquette salad. Enough to take home! We shared a bottle of Buttessi Nero d N’Avolo, a lovely red that paired well. Dessert is special and sbaglione with copious fresh berries was our shared treat. The restaurant has an extensive wine list and a full bar. The baroque Italian villa-like decoration has been enlarged over the years. And can serve large and small parties. There is a family bakeshop next door. Adequate parking & convenience to all Long Island parkways and the LIRR train station. We love the Gemelli’s family warmth and hospitality. Wonderful too that the serving staff still remains, are genuinely interested in guests and enjoying the meal and are as wonderful as ever! Don’t miss this gem if you’re anywhere near Long Island looking for a terrific dining experience!

Gemellis is a well-established Italian restaurant with very good service, good food and a good wine list.
Our most recent visit was for Long Island Restaurant Week, although we also visit at various times during the year. Gemelli's mussels are always very good, and the Restaurant Week appetizer of mussels in white wine sauce was no exception; the shellfish were all perfectly cooked, and the sauce well crafted. The main course of squid ink pasta with calamari and shrimp was also generally good, although the calamari spent a bit too much time on the stove and were a little chewier than they should have been.
At all times, the service was prompt, professional and courteous. The atmosphere in the restaurant is good, as always. We will return soon.

After our dining experience, my whole family felt like this was a bait and switch restaurant week scam. We looked at Gemelli's special restaurant week menu that was on their website and saw two appetizer's that we were interested in (classic Neapolitan rice balls and the butternut squash soup), and a spaghetti dish with lump crab that sounded delicious for the main course. After a strenuous week, we were really looking forward to this meal.
When we arrived, we got seated by a lovely fireplace, that was a good start. We were handed a drink menu but it was at least 15 minutes before we were given food menus, so that was a bit strange (the waiter did apologize). What was even stranger was that my mother and husband had different restaurant week menus than mine! My menu had the two appetizers and entree we were going to get but the rest of my family had menus that didn't have those items! This got me a little nervous, so when the waiter arrived, when I ordered my meal, I showed him the items I wanted from my menu. My mom and myself ordered the spaghetti dish with the crab and the rice ball appetizer, and my husband ordered a ravioli stuffed with pork and the rice balls as well. The waiter took our order so I breathed a sigh of relief as it looked as if there weren't going to be any problems - wrong! The waiter came back a few minutes later and told us that the menu I ordered from had been changed. I told him that I had looked at their online menu just a few hours earlier and that was the menu that was there. He said that it was a last minute change. Well, I wish that we were told about this change a lot earlier because maybe we wouldn't have stayed. But we had already been served our drinks, now we know not to order drinks until we see a food menu.
We were very annoyed at this "last minute change" in the menu. It felt like we were enticed into dining at this establishment under false pretenses. My mother and I were looking forward to having the spaghetti with the crab, that was the dish that made us decide on going to Gemelli instead of one of the other restaurant week places. We felt that this switch was unscrupulous. How could you change to a different menu at the last minute like that? And by the way, as of 6:00 pm today, the day after we had this dinner, the original menu was still on their website. I would like a manager or owner from the restaurant explain why the menu was suddenly changed. Did they think that the dishes that were removed were too good to serve during restaurant week or were they serving those dishes and then ran out of them so they suddenly had to make up a new menu? I would love to know the reason why.
Any way, after feeling very disappointed and conned, we had to find alternative dishes to have, it wasn't easy after having our hearts set on our original choice. Instead of the rice balls for an appetizer, I selected the broccoli soup which I have to say was one of the worst and weirdest soups I have ever had! My mother couldn't even eat hers because she felt it was so strange. I finished mine only because I was very hungry at this point and needed something to eat. I can't even describe how it tasted, it didn't taste anything like broccoli though. I should have had the winter salad, my husband said it was pretty good.
Next came the entree, I had selected the ravioli stuffed with pork, mushroom, and sage, with charred leeks & radicchio in a Madeira wine demi. It was pretty good, the only problem was that there were only four small ravioli, it wasn't enough to feed a child. I'm not a big or fast eater but even I was done in about five minutes and was still quite hungry. I have never seen a portion that small, most appetizers have more food than that. My mother had ordered the pan seared chicken which she said was a bit tough.
The dessert was actually the best part, we all ordered the Sicilian cassatelle which was very good. Unfortunately, it couldn't save the day. After the bait and switch with the menu, and then the absurdly minuscule portions, none of us were very happy. The interior of the restaurant is lovely, the fireplace and decor provide a cozy atmosphere. It's just too bad the rest of the dining experience is so lacking. Now we went during restaurant week so I don't know if ordering off their regular may be a better experience. But I can say from my experience, avoid restaurant week at this place at all costs.

Attended a Ladies luncheon today. The venue was still BEAUTIFULLY decorated from Christmas. We were set up in front of the gorgeous fireplace & mantel . The area was comfortable and spacious for the 18 of us who attended. The food was delicious and well presented. Our server was very efficient, friendly and accommodating. The baked clams were very tiny but delicious the sauce was good. The fried calamari was light and for the most part tender. The dipping sauce was very good. The grilled salmon was excellent and the potato croquette was crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. This is a consistently good local upscale restaurant.

I stopped by with a friend one evening for drinks and we sat outside. It was quiet and relaxing which was unexpected due to the busy road behind the bushes blocking its view. So my husband and I walked here for dinner on the following Saturday night. We sat on the patio and started with a watermelon martini and wine and an appetizer of mozzarella with roasted peppers and basil. For dinner we had fettuccine with mini meatballs and rigatoni a la grappa with shrimp. Michael was our waiter and although he seemed to be very busy, he was always checking in to see if we needed anything. Everything was wonderful and we will return to try other items on the menu. I've been here many times for happy hour but I don't know how I missed ever having dinner here.
