Stopped and ate about 2P on a Sunday on our way through NM. Good enchiladas, all day breakfast was helpful for kids/vegetarians. Would stop in again if we were nearby.

My husband and I were traveling with our young children and stopped in at Penny's for what we hoped would be a quick stop. We waited an hour for our food. Our waitress was friendly and did bring us our drink order fairly quickly , and the food was good when it was finally delivered. However one staff member (who... More

Food was quickly served and nicely prepared. Price is reasonable. Open 24 hours so very convenient to travelers. Husband had chef salad. I had chicken breast over lettuce and tomato with cottage cheese. The chicken breast was tender and properly cooked. Not dry at all so very pleasant.

We were getting gas and we were hungry. As we left the gas station, I saw a sign for Penny's Diner. Made a quick u-turn and went up a drive way and here sat a silver diner. We waled in and were greeted right away. Sat at a booth. Could have sat at the counter. We like booths. I had... More

Penny's Diner is about the only place to eat in Vaughn. It is better than I expected. I actually stop here every month or so, on the long lonesome road between Roswell and Albuquerque. This time, I ordered green chile cheese enchiladas. The sauce was very tasty without being too spicy. The plate came with pintos, salad, and rice. The... More

I had been on the road all day and was dying for a meal. The food was (especially for the price) terrible. I ordered a sandwich with fries. Fries undercooked and mushy, bread over cooked and dry. Portions unimpressive. In retrospect I would have gone across the street and bought a pre made sandwich at the gas station. The building... More

Just what the doctor ordered. Long day. Long drive. Only a couple of hours left. Wasn't expecting much. Got a lot more. Will stop again.

They are literally the only place to stop (at least on our trip) in a four hour stretch so we did. Diner is neat, very nostalgic. Clean, as are the bathrooms. Menu is typical diner but more is written on the whiteboards above the seats. Our food was just ok, but at least we didn't go hungry (taco salad and... More

My children and I stopped in here on our way home. It's about the halfway point from our house and where we were coming from so the kids were getting pretty antsy anyways. It wasn't busy and we got quick and friendly service. The food was good also. Their fries are yummy! I got chicken strips.. you could tell they... More

Without much around these guys don't have a real reason to be good, except that they are! A good and varied menu with lots of options. Great prices as well, especially for their breakfast dishes. Well worth the stop if you're passing through this town.
