Food was delusions, cozy atmosphere, run by 2 women, very COVID safe, open for both sit down & to go orders. So charming!

Great food, good prices, fast and friendly service. Covid-safe practices. Women owned and operated. Good experience!
Stopped in for lunch, ordered beef taco's, couldn't eat them. If you have ever eaten ground beef with no seasonings, that is what it tasted like to me. Service is fair at best!!!
I would honestly say this is one of the worst Mexican food restaurants I have ever been too. Most of the food is not prepared onsite, cooked elsewhere then brought in. I asked for a refund for the beef taco's which were terrible. If you...like flavorless ground beef you will like eating here. Go down the street to Tony's and see why they are busy and this place is not.More
I stopped in this quaint small restaurant and had an amazing meal. The service was excellent, and everyone was super friendly.
Expected to have a nice Mexican dish. Not sure who is doing the cooking but the chile relleno was hard as leather, could not cut with knife and the rice was mush. The presentation of the food was horrible. Will not return and cannot recommend. On...the positive side, the server was excellent and did her best to accommodate.More
Truth or Consequences is not a foodie destination, even for straight-ahead Mexican food. That said, locals squeeze into Carmen's for a reason. The food is freshly prepared. (You can peak past the cash register and see Carmen at work in the kitchen.) The place is...spotless and cheery. And if you aren't in the mood for enchiladas or chiles rellenos, you can opt for a burger or even a pastrami sandwich. We split a breakfast burrito with Hatch chile and found it more than ample.More
This is definitely a good choice if you're looking for New Mexico home cooking. We stopped here for lunch on our way to Albuquerque. We both had a breakfast burrito with Hatch green chili. It was excellent. The salsa was so good we bought some...to take along and share with our friends. Three days later we stopped for lunch again on our way back south. Remembering how good the breakfast burrito was, we both ordered the same thing again. It was good this time, but not as good as the previous one. Maybe Carmen was having an off day. We have still added this place to our favorites list and will not hesitate to visit again. .More
My husband and I stopped in for late lunch and I would say it was average. A variety of Mexican food as well as some sandwiches and burgers. We had the combination plate which included a taco, Chile relleno, and enchilada with rice and beans....Nothing to write home about but served quickly. Staff also seemed put out by us coming at a bad time since it was shift change. If other options available, maybe better to try themMore
Carmen's is one of those places you'd pass by if you didn't know about how good it is. It is small and near the south end of town. It combines good New Mexican food, the coziness of a small place, and the smiles of a...caring crew. Our experiences there (see review in 2015) had been excellent, so we were eager to share with a third traveling companion. We chose a variety of items from the dinner menu. All were excellent. We were headed south the next morning, so opened the place at 8 a.m. for breakfast. Good choice!More
