I ordered the Taco Salad later in the lunchtime. The kitchen was close to shutting down. The waitress didn’t mention the salsa. I forgot to ask. The salad was inedible due to the amount of very spicy salsa spread all over. After a couple of...bites I was on fire. An iced tea and water didn’t help. When I mentioned that the salsa was too hot for me, the server just walked away. She never came back. We went to the cashier to get our check and paid for the salad anyway. It was a weird experience. It was a wonderful looking salad, just deadly for me.More

We walked down to this restaurant for an early Saturday breakfast. Most of our travel meals had been take-out or outdoor meals (during pandemic), so we were a bit apprehensive about an indoor meal. But we were so encouraged when we walked in the door....The staff at Michael's was so welcoming and they were taking all needed precautions of mask wearing, approximately 50% tables used and hand sanitizer at register. We had a corner table and felt safe. Coffee was wonderful and, like any good cafe, free-flowing. We ordered veggie omelets with sides of tortillas and tomatoes. It was probably the most beautiful and tasty omelet either of us had every tasted; no over-statement! My hubby even took pics of it, and he never does that! Even though it was a large omelet, we ate every bit of it. Skipping lunch has never been so worth it. We also bought some bakery sweets to take home. The bear claw, sticky bun and chile/cheese croissant were all yummy. Too bad we don't live close-by; we'd be here often!More

We ate all three breakfasts at Michael's while we were in Taos recently. The pecan rolls and bear claws are great, there is a good selection of breakfasts and prices are reasonable. Staff is very friendly.

Michael's is our favorite breakfast destination in Taos. We had to wait a few minutes to get a table because of the popularity but it was worth the wait. We started by getting a loaf of green chile cheese bread to go. Breakfast was huevos...rancheros for my wife and chile rellenos for me. Both were delicious and reasonably priced. The piece de resistance was a fresh hot sopapilla topped with butter and honey. Located just north of the plaza on the main street. Highly recommend - everything on the menu is delicious.More

We all enjoyed our meal at Michael’s last week — salads, sandwiches, Mexican food. We walked in just before closing and they gave us their full attention and did not rush us at all. It was not my first time there, and I’m sure it...won’t be my last.More

This HAS been our “go to” breakfast spot for several years. Today’s breakfast was sad. I must admit these folks are severely limited due to their Governor’s unprecedented restrictions. We had been traveling from Utah and Colorado. Those states were pretty much open for business....New Mexico is NOT! Today’s visit we encountered a severely limited menu and Michael’s seating was limited to a few tables. That being said, while our server did her best, our food was similar to what you would find at McDonalds. Honestly, my Biscuit and Gravy was sad. Our other breakfast’s were sub par. Lastly, most of their “signature” menu items were not available due to Covid restrictions. We’ll give them another chance AFTER the Governor removes the restrictions.More

Down home country cooking - yummy comfort food. Warm and Friendly. Heart of Taos. Doing their best with Covid Craze so be patient. Owners are awesome people and staff does a great job serving. Love their pancakes! Ate here inside last with my dad and...family and had the most wonderful breakfast before Covid craze hit and changed Taos. Been stopping in to get "to go" since then. Highly recommend.More

My husband and I pre-ordered some green Chile bread and a dozen green Chile cheese danishes. Well, the cheese danishes were not danishes at all! We didn't realize the discrepancy until we had left the bakery. When we went back to let them know the...order was not what we wanted, the old lady that works there gave us attitude saying that the dood can't be given back. Some man that worked there did refund us and the whole time the old lady was upset about us giving the pastries back. If we ask for cheese danishes and you no longer sell them, just say that! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE AND AS TOURISTS, WE WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!!More

The banana pecan pancakes were A-mazng! I didn’t get a pic of my family’s food, but they loved their bacon pancake sandwich and triple decker sandwich. Great place to stop!
