My husband and I ate here during our stay in Taos. We both agreed this place was excellent despite some very loud & rowdy patrons at a nearby table.
The host & waitstaff were top notch! Very attentive, accommodating and eager to please. Setting the standard for customer service. When we requested to be moved to a quieter location they happily obliged (staff was well aware of the loud patrons and were gently trying to inspire them to move along without being rude)
The atmosphere was cozy and intimate (and greatly improved once we moved away from those disruptive patrons!)
We both got filet mignon which was cooked perfectly to our request. (which almost never happens when dining out; kudos to the Chef!) My husband got the Hydro Bibb Wedge appetizer and for dessert we enjoyed the Baked Alaskan.
Everything was delicious! Yes it's on the higher end, but you get what you pay for and this was well worth it!
If you're looking for a nice, quiet, romantic dinner this is the place!
Definitely recommend calling ahead to make reservations.

Dining on the outdoor patio, amid COVID regulations and restrictions, was very relaxing and the food was delicious. The service was excellent and relaxed ambiance of the outdoor patio was so refreshing. We both ordered the filet and it was perfect. Dessert is a must - the Chocolate chunk cookie was served warm with homemade ice cream!

Lambert's of Taos got referred to us by a fellow guest in our hotel. We had visited Taos many times, but never dined at this restaurant. Lambert's lived up to its stellar reputation, Our server offered attentive, but not intrusive service, and had a good command of the menu and wine list. She made appropriate recommendations. The meal surpassed my expectations, and I opted for the bison rib eye, of which I could only eat half (but we took the other half home). Our guests ordered the lamb and filet mignon, and the lamb was heralded as the best ever. We topped dinner with lemon ice cream, and never felt rushed or hurried. All in all, an excellent experience, and we'll be back.

My family has been eating at Lambert's for 30 years; I can still remember a lobster Napoleon I had at the old location 25 years ago. You might think that the restaurant would be at least as innovative so many years later but you would be wrong. I generally don't write reviews, preferring instead to speak directly to the establishment, but our in-person concerns were met with total indifference. Three of the eight people in our party are in the food and wine business so we're not your average diners and we give a tremendous amount of leeway to restaurants knowing how difficult running a restaurant is, particularly in the current environment.
This was my mother's 80th birthday dinner so definitely a special occasion. We started with the Aubry Champagne, intending to ramp up from there, but we were so put off by the inhospitable service that we chose to only have a few glasses of wine after we finished the Champagne. My brother mentioned that he hadn't had lamb chops ($54) in a long time while our server was pouring the Champagne, and I swear I'm not kidding when I say the server responded by saying "and you're not having them tonight either". This is when we learned that 2 of the 5 entrees they had on the menu were not available that evening. Not when we sat down, not when the server first approached our table nor the second time were we informed about the omissions on the menu. I should mention that the menu was a piece of paper so this easily could have been avoided if the restaurant had taken the time to reprint the menus. We asked if we could also order off the Treehouse menu from the upstairs bar menu (for my two young nieces) in light of the very few entrees available and our server didn't even respond to us, he just left the table. So weird.
We were then informed by the MOD that the kitchen would not allow us to order from the Treehouse menu even though our table was much closer to the kitchen than the upstairs bar. This is just arbitrary and stupid. At this point, we chose to limit our bill as this seemed like a money grab from a chef or kitchen being unaccommodating just for the sake of it.
The food was cooked adequately but very basic and unimaginative. We left a 20% tip, which for us is pretty paltry. A very unsatisfactory evening for such a special occasion.

We had looked forward to eating here, based on several reviews, but the experience was somewhat disappointing. Perhaps it was not a typical night--hard to know. The service was erratic, with awkward timing between the courses. It didn't seem that busy when we were there, so the slow spells didn't entirely make sense. The sound system had too-loud music with a continuously pulsing beat, seemingly out of place in a fine dining context. The lighting was so dim it felt dark. The roasted garlic for the starter sourdough bread was good, as was the salad. Both the 'catch of the day' (swordfish) and the lamb were a solid good. However, the prices were out of proportion to the dinner's overall quality and portion size. If you are in Taos, I suggest you try eating at "The Love Apple" and "Medley," both of which we really enjoyed.

A recent family dinner at Lambert's turned into a disaster. After many good to very dinners at Lambert's over 15+ years, this experience caused serious doubts for us. First, the waiter brought the wrong bottle of a pricey wine. Secondly, my entree was inedible. The poultry was completed bleck on the exterior and the interior was completely dried out. I sent it back to the kitchen and did NOT get a response from the chef. The waiter offered to order a second portion, but I declined. Finally, it took three tries to get the dessert orders right. I seriously doubt we would go back to Lambert's and are looking at other restaurants in Taos for "fine dining"

The flavors and creativity of the food were fantastic, however main dishes were significantly under sized (3 scallops for the seafood offering) for cost. Wine menu was good, but after the waiter poured our first glass, neither he or the assistant filled them again and several times we had to ask for dishes to be cleared. Before dinner we popped into the treetop bar and the bartender was clearly in the weeds . My tonic in the gin and tonic was flat and it took about 20 minutes for us to get our change after handing the bartender cash when he brought our drinks. One final comment...we did have the pleasure of sitting by the owners and several of their guests and they were charming. Perhaps the staff was so focused on their service they just couldn't give us equal time and care. Disappointing experience.

Reservations were for outdoor patio seating but we were very disappointed when the host sat us in a gravel floored, white tent covered room. There was no view of the open night sky, no evening breeze and feeling of isolation. It appeared to be overflow dining with no ambiance which, unfortunately, set the stage for the whole experience. Wait staff forgot to bring our wine order so we had to remind a server who knew nothing about the wine list. Food was good but the vibe of the setting and service diminished the overall dining experience.
If you desire outdoor dining, request a table in the area with flagstone floor and tree or you could end up under the tent.

We've spent 3 nights in Taos and this was our best meal by far. A true 5 star restaurant. Both our primary waitress and her assistant checked in multiple times to make sure we were pleased. We were seated outdoors in a courtyard that was very comfortable.
I started with their gazpacho which I highly recommend. It comes with half a lobster tail. My wife began with the best salad as was very pleased. We both ordered the scallops, which were the seafood special. They came over some polenta with an apricot jam along with sea beans and heirloom cherry tomatoes. The presentation and the meal was excellent. For dessert I had a peach cobbler with homemade vanilla ice cream while my wife had the "flowerless" chocolate cake. We both cleaned our plates.
Yes, this restaurant is more expensive than restaurants ranked higher, but this is fine dining and they do it right.

The restaurant had some compelling reviews and I was visiting Taos alone so I tried out Lamberts. It’s a bit pricey for a reason. The food is amazing! I have some pretty big dietary limitations due to allergies (and I don’t mean I get itchy eyes or the sniffles). Due to Covid the seating is a bit weird so I sat at the upstairs bar. The bartender is affable and helpful. I explained my issues and he researched several options with the chef. I sprang for the Opah (fish from Hawaii) and double vegetables. Basically they crafted a meal just for me. It was perfect! The fish was heavenly, the vegetables perfectly cooked and I nearly licked the plate. I’m pretty sure I had Opah in Hawaii and it wasn’t nearly this good (as I recall I shared it with a local beggar of a cat).

We were so pleased with our meals at Lambert's. A fine dining experience in casual attire! We have been on the road, so we didn’t have our best clothes to wear, but we were treated well by attentive waitstaff and had a good experience. My husband's Harris Ranch steak was so tender he cut it with a fork! A first for me, I ordered the fried chicken and waffle dish! It was scrumptious! Many menu items were locally sourced, and the accompaniments were fresh and delicious.
I highly recommend this fine restaurant!

Four of us and our young grand daughter had a superb experience at Lambert’s from the appetizers to the desserts and coffee/tea. Service was attentive and everyone enjoyed their main dishes. I had the fish of the day and it was sea bass. My husband had the lamb shank, our son the duck breast and our daughter-in-law the bison which was a « special ». This was our second time at Lambert’s (we usually spend the 3rd week in February in Taos), and we highly recommend it if you are looking for that special diner place.

Recommend to us by our Inn and we made reservations (a must) a few weeks in advance through their website. Parking is in a paid lot close, or across the street free, so there is an enjoyable walk to the restaurant. We arrived early and the host was able to seat us rather quickly. The service was excellent, ambiance perfect and easy to have a conversation. The chef specials of elk filet and tempura prawns were delicious, along with the custom bread spreads. A very nice high end restaurant that I would gladly return to.

We were in Taos for two nights and this was the better of two nights’ dinners.
Upon arrival, we were showing to a table for two in a small room in close proximity to several other tables of diners. Rest of the restaurant was mostly unoccupied at this point. Every table could easily hear conversations at other tables.
No matter. The food was surprisingly tasty. The bison rellino was great, as was the duck breast. The soup was equally good. The filet mignon was well prepared and appealingly tasty in a way that commercially supplied beef is usually not.
The homemade ice creams were also very good.
Generally a successful dinner, but we could have used more elbow room.
Generally a good dinner, but we coul

We ate dinner tonight at the Treehouse Bar & Lounge, the more casual and cozy upstairs offering of Lambert’s. Loved the unique seating options with couches and armchairs. The bartender/server was great: friendly, helpful and efficient. Ambiance was warm and hip and fun (even our 22 year old son liked it). Ramen entree was very flavorful, as was the roasted olive appetizer with goat cheese and crostini. Highly recommend!
