Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory is the perfect vacation splurge. After dinner on our first night we dropped by for chocolates. The big dark chocolate peanut butter cream cup was out of this world. That was so much chocolate that we had to save the chocolate pecan caramel turtles for the next evening. Thankfully our hotel room had a frig. The... More

We visit RMCF everytime we come to Taos. I have read some of the reviews here and can say we have never had bad customer service. A couple of times it was average, a few times good and even occasionally very good. I will, however. agree that it is very pricey. I always get a caramel or chocolate covered apple... More

Located on one end of the Taos plaza, there is a choice of indulgence by chocolate or ice cream. I chose the ice cream which was both fantastic as it was creamy and offered in a generous serve. The perfect end to a day meandering around Taos shops.

After wandering around the shops and streets around Taos Plaza, we came upon this chocolate shop and just had to give it a try. After sampling some of the chocolate - and of course there was New Mexico chile in some of the cocolate - we settled on a couple of ice cream cones that really hit the spot.

My wife and I visited to view the chocolates and also to buy an ice-cream on a rather hot afternoon. We were met by the most obnoxious and rude sales girl I have met in a long time. What do YOU want? We were greeted with. My wife asked for a vanilla cone for her and a cookies and cream... More

Their chocolate is always delightful because, well, it's chocolate. Theirs is quite good. We bought some red chile fudge, some dark chocolate haystack (my favorite), a giant peanut butter cup and some truffles. A happy munch was enjoyed by all.

Okay, so we only went out for ice cream at one other place, the Taos Cow Ice Cream Company in Arroyo Seco; this place was better and less expensive. We enjoy good ice cream, and the selection of flavors worked for us. Two single scoop dishes for $8 including tax. $5 less than Taos Cow.

We stopped in during one of our many strolls about the plaza. It was perfectly fine; we had ice cream.

Great looking chocolates and Caramel apples. We had chocolate dipped twinkles, caramels and chocolates. The Twinkie and chocolates seemed stale, not fresh, especially considering the price.

I liked the chocolate and brittle items indigenous to the region with pinions , chills etc. They had a great selection of chocolate items and ice cream. Who doesn't enjoy delicious, cold ice cream on the Plaza, especially on Thursday nights in the summer when they have live music? Win-win.
