Enjoyed it a lot and were able to take the dog (outside dining). Only drawback for me was no alcohol, Very pleasant and the food is excellent

The food here is excellent. Authentic Mexican food well prepared and presented. Add the red and/or green chile and you have a unique combination.

We spent a week on Santa Fe and Taos. This was one of the best meals we had and certainly the best value. With reservations on some nights hard to come by, we opted for take out from Jalapenos. Ceviche, guacamole and street tacos were...fresh and tasty.More

This place was absolutely fantastic! Did not expect much, on a busy road and unpretentious, but the food is so fresh and delicious. I would ad that, though she was very short handed, Valerie went above and beyond to serve us. Thanks Valerie!

Jalapenos is a whistle-clean small cafe in Taos, New Mexico run by the Sillas family. The service is quite efficient but the food is really beyond amazing! Today (at least our fourth visit within the past two or three weeks) I decided to branch out...from my traditional choice of enchiladas, rice, and beans (which are great) and tell you about the cheese rellanos filled with cream cheese and bacon and topped with chipotle mayo and fresh pico and white cheese. Wow! I still cannot get over how very unique and tasty this dish was. I will try the touted street tacos next time.More

We ate outside in the courtyard but it faces a busy road so if this bothers you eat inside. Delicious tacos and my husband enjoyed his stuffed jalapeño rellenos (they were certainly hot though)! We also really enjoyed the fresh fruit waters. We tried the...mango, watermelon and lemonade. I do wish they would have told us we could have a refill (one free) but we didn’t ask either. Would definitely return to this place for a casual but delicious meal.More

Wow, the street tacos were delicious (al pastor and camarones). Kids enjoyed the enchiladas, quesadilla and some other tacos I can't remember which. Importantly, unlike other places in town, there was no wait. This was a wonderful place for a quick but tasty lunch. Also,...the watermelon-lemonade agua fresca was super refreshing.More

After reading the menu, I was excited to visit Jalapeños. I made it in today for an early dinner (4pm), anxiously looking forward to trying the Camaron Jalapeño Rellenos. Inside dining looked comfortable (still distancing with the tables). I chose a nice table outside. Although...it’s on the main drag in Taos, I really didn’t notice that much noise outside. Service was very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, they had to tell me there was a rush on Jalapeños earlier in the day and my chance for those Rellenos today had passed. There are a number of tasty sounding Street Tacos on the menu. I was hoping to be able to Mix and Match, but that’s not an option. Being a lover of Fish Tacos, I opted for the Pescado Baja, beer battered fish with red onion, tarter sauce and cilantro. I added Chips and Salsa. The Chips arrived quickly and I was warned they were still hot. Great texture on the Chips, without being too thick. And the homemade Salsa was delicious. And hot. When the plate of 5 Fish Street Tacos arrived, I thought it was a nice presentation, but was wondering if they would deliver the taste. Short answer…YES! These were some of the best Fish Tacos I’ve ever enjoyed. The fish was cooked perfectly, the batter was light but had plenty of flavor. The Tarter Sauce was really nice, much better than some places that use a heavy flavor to make up for the lack of flavor in the fish. I was actually glad I had to pivot from the Jalapeño Rellenos and had the pleasure of enjoying these Street Tacos. Price for my meal was just under $17. Definitely worth every penny. The server said if I come back at opening tomorrow (11AM), I’ll be able to try the Jalapeño Rellenos as I had hoped to today. Honestly, it’s going to be difficult not ordering the Fish Street Tacos again.More
