Last trip to Taos, I did not try this restaurant. So many restaurants, so little time. This is Restaurant Week in Taos. The curb appeal of El Meze is, to say the least, lacking. Do not judge the book by its cover. I chose the...More

If you come during the summer they'll sit you in a covered patio area that looks out to the mountains. We came for dinner and the atmosphere was great. While it was a bit pricey, the food was delicious. I had the roasted chicken and...More

We have a second home in Taos, and we visit frequently. We wanted to try a new restaurant, so we made an impromptu visit to El Meze. We were a larger than average group ( 3 families - 6 adults and 5 children). With that...More

An unannounced party of 11 is a difficult party to seat no matter who the restaurant is or the time. For my boutique restaurant which is only 16 tables and most of them seating 2 people, it is even more difficult since I have to...More

A great place for an intimate dinner. Wonderful food that is not usually found on most menus. The service was prompt, professional, & exceptional. The oxtail was rich and delicious! My wife & I made our first visit and will be back again.

While we were disappointed with 2 other Taos "fine dining" restaurants El Meze was great. Our waiter was very pleasant and welcomed our 5 year old family member. He willingly split plates to feed our youngster from what the adults ordered and that food was...More

The food here was a little unusual, especially for Taos, but it was great. The service was wonderful. A very nice wine selection. We had a tremendous dessert, some type of chocolate croissant bread pudding. Looks a little dumpy from the road but this place...More

Harley the waiter took great care of us. It was a quiet night and they treated us like family. Fried stuffed blue cheese olives to start, with a slightly grilled hearts of romain was a great twist with manchego cheese. I had the pork, which...More

I have often visited Taos over the last few years and have not heard of El Meze until I read about it in an e-mail from Trip Advisor. Absolute perfection is the most appropriate description of my experience there. The ambience is cozy and warm....More

My husband and I have visited Taos for many years, eaten at almost every restaurant, and our dinner last night at El Meze was the best meal we have ever had in Taos. The buffalo tamale was delicious, as was the pasta e fagiole, the...More

We are a very small boutique restaurant. We are about quality not quantity so we keep our menu limited to what we can execute to provide stellar food consistently in a timely fashion. We are not a restaurant meant for... More

Description
We are located in the El Torreon Hacienda built in 1847 which reflects our philosophy, our food and the historical influences of Taos. From June - September we have patio seating under a tent with twinkle lights and the most incredible view of Taos Mountain.
