Okay...but...Okay

Both Thai and Sushi available at this conveniently located restaurant at the corner of Enchanted Hills and the main highway into Rio Rancho. I've eaten here twice, and both time the food was not bad. It is served hot, arrives quickly, the service is good, and the food was okay. But only okay. I've been in Thai restaurants that stunned my taste buds with deliciousness and nose with aroma. This is not one of those. Second time in I needed take-out and they accommodated that easily. And hour drive home, we reheated it some and it made a good TV dinner for us. Staff was beyond helpful and friendly.

Unexceptional Thai food, very nice service

First visit here, since my friend's regular Thai restaurant is closed on Sundays. Our food was good not great. The young man who served us was very pleasant and attentive.

New Owner, Same Good Food

Technically, the name of this place is "Sushi King/Taste of Thai". The restaurant recently changed owners, although the name stayed the same. The food is still good, as lunch on a recent day revealed. I eat lunch here a couple of times a month, and dinner a couple of times a year. My wife and I have found the food to be very good, with service varying in the past according to who signed on from month to month. I found out about the change in ownership from a server who was upset about her summary firing, but was still on duty on my visit. Sushi here is quite good, but you need to ask the chef to cut in properly thin pieces. Left to their own devices, it sometimes comes in relatively chunky form, not the best way to appreciate the fresh fish flavors. If asked, they will do a half order of the sashimi combo, which makes a delicious lunch portion. My wife enjoys the Thai side of the menu, with chicken satay and chicken with noodles variations her favorites. A small selection of different beer styles and a limited wine list round out a dinner nicely.

Really bad

Stopped in for a quick dinner on a Wednesday night… just one person waiting on all the tables and doing take outs. Empty tables stacked with dishes and people waiting for take out… I should have left then. We waited 40 mins to give our order, 30 wait to get our food, which we had to send back because it was uneatable.

Excellent food, excellent service

After reading some reviews, we were a little hesitant about going to this restaurant. However, we decided to try it out and we were very glad we did. Our server was excellent and made our dining experience awesome. The chicken fried rice and the pad thai chicken dishes were very good and the best we had since we have been in the area. The appetizer egg rolls were tasty, delicious, and well worth it. We were pleasantly surprised that the restaurant was spacious with comfortable booths. The food was the best we had since moving to the Rio Rancho area.

HEALTH HAZARD!!! DO NOT EAT HERE

I DO NOT recommend eating here!! The kitchen is never cleaned and is in disgusting condition. There is cross contamination like crazy, raw meat in the same container with fresh veggies and food items not being stored correctly. Kitchen staff never washes hands in between meals or tasks. The refrigerator has a ton of mold and build up. They never wash out containers before putting a new batch in them so mold has grown in the containers they currently use for meals. I've seen one of the cooks cutting raw chicken and went straight to making a sticky rice mango order with raw chicken all over their hands while cutting a mango. I've also seen kitchen staff picking cut up veggies from the trash and throwing them back into the veggie container to use for meals. A lot of food is just thrown in the microwave to cook it, for example the Steamed Salmon isn't steamed it's microwaved. All their beverages have been expired for 1-2 years, they say it's the beverage companies fault for delivering them but they are willingly accepting expired beverage boxes to serve to customers. There is no sanitation areas in the back for cleaning. They treat their staff like garbage as you can tell by many reviews saying there's only one person running the front of house, it's because nobody wants to work for them. My concern is the health of the customers, if any customer were to go into the kitchen and see where their food is coming from, they would leave immediately.

Horrid Sweet and Sour pork

We ordered the sweet and sour pork it was horrendous! I seemed like they poured a bottle of store bought sweet and sour sauce over four strips of pork and vegetables. It was sooo sweet not good at all!!! Never will eat there again!!

Incompetent interface with Uber Eats

We have eaten there several times since they opened. Today, we ordered through Uber Eats. Over the next hour our delivery time was changed three times. Finally, my wife called the restaurant. The restaurant claims they never got the order. We go down and show that the order is "In Progress" on the app. The young man at the register just looks at us with a blank face and no excuse whatsoever. We will never eat there again!

Delivery Options Make a DIFFERENCE

I frequent this restaurant on a regular and decided to use Door Dash as an option for convenience... well I got taken... the tuna on the sushi was dark brown, the green curry was watered down, and the fried chicken wings tasted like very old oil. Truly disappointed!...But I loved the Door Dash service... will use them again at a different restaurant.

Horrible food, waiter was friendly.

I got the California Roll and it was the worst I ever had. How do you ruin a California Roll? I took on bite and threw out. I also got fried rice, I could at least eat most of it. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I did take out, the server was very friendly and prompt.

We recently ordered dinner and multiple items were left out of our order. When we called to complain we were told that the food we had already paid for would be given to us 'free' on our next visit. When I mention I would leave negative feedback online the manager told me quote 'We can live with that' do Not patronize this business

Thai plus Vietnam plus sushi that is miles away from the nearest good Asian restaurant. The green papaya salad with shrimp and/or pork is my favorite

So so sushi

Had dinner here on a Friday night ~ 6p. We were only the 2nd couple in the place. Several people though did come in for take out while we were dining. My wife ordered a variety of sushi for her dinner and said that it wasn't as fresh or well prepared as similar restaurants in town. She decided not to finish a couple rolls and sashimi and not even take it home which is not normal for her. I tried the Pad Khing wich was good. A bit rich on the ginger but this was my first time trying the dish so maybe that was the way it was supposed to be. We decided to have cold sake with our dinner but the menu was out of date. Giving credit to our waiter he assembled a tray with all the sake they had and brought it out for us to choose what we wanted. Overall dinner was fair to OK but not worth a return visit.

A Nice Place in the Neighborhood

My wife and I eat lunch here relatively often, and dinner once in a while. No ethereal concoctions here, just good, tasty Asian food prepared properly and delivered timely. The sushi and sashimi are my favorites (this place is paired with a Sushi King unit), and my only objection about them is that the pieces tend to be sliced a little too thick for my taste. Fresh, certainly, but a full ounce chunk of tuna atop a rice ball can be hard to take in one bite. My wife finds the Thai and other Asian entrees very tasty as well.
