My friends and I booked a catered party here one afternoon and the Manager was wonderful, could not have been more gracious and helpful. I have been back for several lunches and the food has been acceptable for a fast food bar menu. Pleasant atmosphere, not too noisy and the tables are not tightly together. I'll be back!

Unfortunately, after many attempts to love it or at least like it, we had to give up on the Fat Squirrel & turn away from its adorable mascot. It's just too greasy, too nasty, bland, fried, or overpriced in the case of its steaks. It's sad but true. It's not worth going there. Drive on to the Turtle where you... More

I had the cheeseburger with green chile with, no bun and the grilled vegetables. The burger was one the most delicious I have had in a long time and the grilled broccoli and cauliflower were excellent.

My husband and I have been going to Fat Squirrel for several years, primarily for a beer although we have eaten here. Up until about a year ago, the place was crowded and lively. With each visit there were fewer patrons and a very subdued atmosphere. Last night at a little after 5, there were two people at the bar... More

This place used to be a lot of fun. Diverse crowd, plenty of energy. It's really slowed down over the past 2 years or so. I used to visit a few times a month, now it's more like ever 6-8 months. Now it's slow everything I go in. Tonigjt (Saturday) night was about 20% full. It's a wonder how they... More

The live music was very enjoyable. We also liked our food. It's standard bar food for New Mexico, but it has a good variety. Also, they have some good beer selections. We thought that the entire night was definitely a good value for our money. Would go back!

First off, I wish I'd gotten his name. But the bartender was super friendly, and gave my boyfriend and I lots of tips on where to go in the area for sightseeing. We hadn't been in this car before, or to other places in Rio Rancho (new to the area). But this was on a Sunday night, a little quieter,... More
