Excellent in every way! Must get the chips, salsa and guacamole! Hubby had the fajitas combo and wow the flavors were amazing! Best ever! I had the carne adovada enchiladas with red Chile sauce and outstanding!! And such a lovely touch ending with sopapidas with...honey! Wonderful and thoroughly enjoyed our lunch on the patio! Perfect afternoon in Taos!More

Oh my goodness, where do I even begin describing this amazing little piece of heaven?!? Let’s start at the beginning...Lovely location with a beautiful courtyard—inside are numerous rooms furnished with unique and delightfully worn pieces of old Taos furniture and art. Then there’s the food....you...have to order chips and salsa separately, but completely worth it. We added a side of guacamole, it was huge and we couldn’t finish it. Hubs ordered the combo fajitas and they were excellent. Not sure what spices they used but they were tasty and definitely not just your standard fajita offering. I ordered some kind of combo plate (holy moly there was a ton of food!) and the best part was honest to goodness...the cheese enchilada. Seriously!! Next time, I’m ordering a plate full of ‘em. Finally, the meal was topped off with GIANT sopapillas. (Not kidding—they were as big as hubby’s hand!) Service was terrific as well.More

We've eaten in a lot of new mexican restaurants. The food we had last week at this restaurant was absolutely delicious. My husband and son thought the carne adovada was the best they've ever had. My daughter and I loved the stacked blue corn enchiladas....And my other daughter, who wasn't very excited about eating NM food, absolutely loved the stuffed sopapilla. The sopapillas with honey at the end of the meal were also especially good. We enjoyed eating on the patio out front.More

Have come here several times in recent years to get my chile fix, and have never been disappointed. Delicious food in a pleasant setting with a great mix of locals and visitors. My favorite place to eat in Taos. Looking forward to my next visit!

This place is just wonderful. We’ve been coming to Taos for decades and have never been here. Our loss. My wife had the carne adovada plate. She said it was the best she’s ever had. I’m vegetarian and had the vegetable enchiladas. They were delicious....We both loved the red chile! The people were very friendly. They were busy. Another couple had a large table and offered to share it with us. We felt very welcome. Watch out for the sopapillas. They’re huge. We’ll be back.More

Having read other reviews, I wonder if my husband and I happened on a bad night. The food was okay New Mexican. We both had chile rellenos. The red and green sauce was under-spiced, and the rellenos were overstuffed with cheese. The batter, however, was...crisp and not soggy. The beans and rice sides were no better or worse than umpteen New Mexican places. The food was not overpriced, but I would disagree with reviewers who suppose it was a particular value. Perhaps the okay food would not have been as much a problem had we had felt welcome. We did not. Our server, apparently the or an owner, conveyed the attitude that were imposing on his time. I saw him convey a like attitude to some other tables, but not all. I wondered if the problem had to do with outsiders vs. locals. Regardless, I would not return.More

The staff was super nice and accommodating. We were a party of 6 with a child. They accommodated a special request of a shrimp enchilada without blinking. Every meal includes a huge sopapilla w/honey for dessert. YUMMY! We visit Taos every year and this was...our visit and it we will be back!More

As hard as I try, I always order the same thing. The chicharron burrito is hands down, best I’ve ever eaten. This is a place we’ve eaten for years. The little chunks of crispy pork in the burrito is amazing! Then, when you think you...couldn’t possibly eat one more bite, here come the sopapillas! The size of a plate, so save room. Hats off Ranchos de Plaza Grill, job well done!More

This restaurant is next to the Cathederal St Francis de Assis in an adobe building. We really enjoyed the food. It was better Mexican fare than the average. It was busy, but not loud, as there were at least three rooms. I would definitely go...there if I were local.More

Had a wonderful meal with friends and all felt was one of the very best in Taos. Not fancy at all but good! The portions are substantial, the service quick and friendly. No alcohol is served but that is ok. Give this place a try....The location, right by the church, nis great and it is housed in an old, historic building dating back to the time of the church.More

I hope they are not as that family should be home celebrating together. But suggest you call them for an answer or the Taos Visitors Center. If they are closed, suggest you try Old Martina's Hall directly accross street... More
