This is an excellent resturant for breakfast. We were in placitas for the holiday art fare. Lots of food and prices very reasonable. I can rarely eat the amount of food you get in one order. French toast was average and bacon done perfect. The three eggs and chirizo scramble was excellent and they were willing to change tortilla for... More

Great affordable breakfasts. I come out feeling satisfied and it doesn't break the bank. The service has been very friendly.

We recently moved to Placitas, NM and one of the two restaurants in the community is Placitas Café. We have been there several times and have found some of the best NM red chile in the state! the green chile is good also but the red chile is rivaled by only a couple of restaurants in the greater Albuquerque area.... I recommend the Placitas Cafe for anyone wanting to eat at a local non-chain restaurant. We've eaten at most of the popular restaurants in the Albuquerque area and find the food at the Cafe to be excellent in comparison. We enjoy the unique style of the food and atmosphere in addition to the beauty of the local Sandia Mountains.

My husband and I are passing through and happened upon this place today at lunchtime. We sat outside in the lovely, warm weather. It is definitely a very casual, quirky atmosphere, but that's fun. The food was excellent. Get the blackbean cakes! We would certainly go back!

I've eaten here several times over the past few months when I was visiting family and it feels like home. Everyone is friendly and the food is great!

The food is good. The atmosphere is kinda quirky. The artwork on the walls is very interesting. In general, the service is poor. It seems as though they know who their customers are (or ought to be) and if you're not one of them, they're not interested in waiting on you. Too bad, because the food really is good.

Quirky local art, fun menu, friendly staff, good food! I had the chicken green chile stew--and it was loaded with charred New Mexico green chiles. Very hot, but very good. My friend had a half order of chicken nachos--still huge. She couldn't eat it all--and took some home for later.

Had lunch there and it was great. Very reasonably priced. Big food and it was delicious! The customer service was above excellent. It is a rather small and the seats are close together. Hard to have a conversation. Lots of great folk art in the walls, bought a cross. Everything was respasonably priced. Highly recommend this eatery!

Nestled high on the northern slope of the Sandia Mountains the Placitas cafe offers a Cafe atmosphere with tremendous views. The locals like to keep it a secret.
