Run down, so-so food, not as clean as it should be. Can't get a vegetable or fresh fruit on the menu.

A great family owned restaurant with affordable prices near the entrance to Ojo Caliente. Skip the pricy resort restaurant and come for some great food for less than 1/2 the price. Don't forget a slice of delicious homemade cake for an extra treat. We had the Taco plate and the combo plate. Both were served with beans and a tortilla.... More

If you have been to Ojo you know there isn't much in the way of food nearby. That said when you leave the springs, turn north and look for the rustic Mesa Vista cafe on your right side. The minute you walk in you will feel like you have walked into your grandma's kitchen. The food is simple and delicious.... More

It really doesn't get more authentic than this if you're looking for typical northern New Mexico food. The place has been run by the same family for several generations, and is typical of the feel and atmosphere of the whole area. It's actually more of a local hangout and not geared toward attracting a lot of business outside the community.... More

We checked into the Ojo Caliende Resort & Spa and our room wasn't ready. The manager on duty recommended that we go up the street to the Mesa Vista Cafe. We thoroughly enjoyed their delicious hamburgers with green chilis, but, most of all, the friendly folks there ! Be sure to stop by and enjoy the atmosphere and down-to-earth conversation.

Staying at the Springs again (Sept 2016) and we ate every meal at the Mesa Vista Cafe. Starting with lunch we we arrived in town followed by dinner and then breakfast the next morning. When you go to Mesa Vista Cafe you need to expect small town and locals. The food and service are amazing and the people are extremely... More

If you go to the Ojo Caliente spa your dinner options on Sunday night are slim. The Mesa Vista was not our first choice but we were glad we made a re-attack and came in to eat. There is nothing fancy about this place but you don't pay any extra. The menu is good basic American/New Mexico fair and they... More

What a gem in Ojo Caliente! We were a bit skeptical and almost ate at the resort, but so glad we didn't. It appears to be frequented by locals and tourists alike, as many who walked in knew the super friendly staff. I had the breakfast burrito smothered in green chile and it's one of the best I've had!!! If... More

We walked into the restaurant with one man sitting at the counter, we were told to sit anywhere and given menus. Another group of 3 arrived and another group of 4 and then 2 buying jam and a to go. The waitress never came back to us, waited on all the others and totally ignored us so we left. It... More

Good home cooked food, real northern new mexico cuisine. Reasonably priced, don't expect a fancy ambiance.
