Tastes good, that's all I really have to say! The ambiance/decor in the restaurant is great. Should be a fun place to eat once indoor dining is allowed again.

Very Nice place and enjoyed it very much will come back again nice area very nice and clean enjoyed it thank you very much
This is such a cute restaurant. Will be fun to visit when the inside dining is open. But they have 2 patios set up with heaters - very nice setting. The food is so yummy. Although busy the staff is very efficient and nice. Our...waitress, Melanie, is so friendly. I’ll be back when we visit Mesilla again.More
We had a great experience here! Food was very good, portions were HUGE! Make sure you bring an appetite or be cool with taking leftovers. The guy playing music was so-so, but still appreciated. The host tried to sit us in a room all by...ourselves at first but we were able to change seats to not feel like outcasts.More
I first discovered La Posta de Mesilla 20 years ago, an incredible Southwestern-cuisine restaurant in the historic old post office, a block from the 1840s town plaza. The friend I was driving cross-country with was also a long-time aficionado of La Posta. Going through Las...Cruces without dining at La Posta was inconceivable to either of us. Earlier in the pandemic, La Posta was closed, but it’s now open, with seating indoors, in the patio, and in a new, large canopied but open-air outdoor dining hall beside the restaurant—looking vaguely like a temporary outdoor biergarten in Bavaria during Oktoberfest. We arrived at 5:15 expecting La Posta to be relatively empty so early. Our mistake: we took the last open parking place in the restaurant’s large parking lot. Lots of people were celebrating it’s returning to full service. Both the restaurant interior and the “patio” were 50% occupied, and an attempt seemed to have been made to keep tables 6 feet apart. The Posta has about eight different rooms, but they were all full. I had wanted to sit outdoors in the “biergarten” which was open on all sides—hence safer--but we learned that area did not open until 6:00 pm. The food was quite good—hearty and filling. They’ve a wine list and fair beer selection, including craft beers such as Monk’s Ale. Name your tequila: you’ll have lots of choices. We were both delighted to dine again at La Posta. The hearty Southwestern dishes—enchilada plates are my favorite—are just like the way your abuela used to cook ‘em, provided your grandmother was an incredibly good cook. And since New Mexico, with its Hatches and Chimayo, has the best green and red peppers around, La Posta is well worth a visit. However, I would strongly recommend arriving at 6:00 or later, and dining outdoors, for personal safety.More
This place is amazing, however, I wouldn't recommend ordering the steak, and if you judge the quality of a mexican restaurant by Fajitas, then this place isn't for you. For anybody new - Please order one of the combination plates or the La Posta Chica...and the Tostadas Compuestas is fantastic. Red Meat Enchiladas with an egg over easy is my absolute favorite, and all of the enchiladas are amazing. The Tacos are also very good, but not traditional. They fry the meat and the tortilla together - and the flavor is out of this world. It is a must go to location.More
Based on the number of good reviews we were expecting a great dinner but unfortunately that was not our experience. My husband ordered fajitas and he really enjoyed them; however I ordered the enchiladas and they were some of the worst I have ever had....They were cold and the tortillas were soggy with little to no filling. At least the restaurant is in a neat historic area so I enjoyed walking around following my disappointing meal.More
Really disappointed. We drove from So. Texas because this where we really wanted to eat. We had been here several times some years ago and loved to go here, WOW what a change. We had our small dog with us and dined in the patio...across the street.in order to be able to eat. The staff there was absolutely wonderful and we enjoyed the patio. we ordered our dinner and 45 minutes later we were still waiting for it to be delivered. Our waiter walked across to the restaurant to check on it and within 2 minutes it was brought to us. Naturally it was cold and very bland. I would had enjoyed Taco Bell more. I will never go there again. Verery disappointed and the food.More
We ate at La Posta with family on September 24,2020. Food was good, everything from ordering to eat and talking having a good time with family was and went very well. I've literally haven't eaten here in about 5 years. So everything was okay. My...husband and son had to excuse themselves to head to the men's room. While they waited inside the restroom a employee exits the stall. He had a apron do one can guess that they worked in the kitchen. Needless to say this worker used the restroom, instead of washing his hand as posted in all restaurants per New Mexico law. He didn't bother. He walked out door and went back to the kitchen. After my son and husband told the group/family we were all a bit shocked but mostly DISGUSTED!!!! Nothing like ordering a side of e coli and H pylori, to go with your meal. Forget the sopapillas and honey.More
