Delightful Restaurant, Delightful Owner

We always assumed this was just another Mexican food restaurant. We love the stuff, but enough is enough. So it was a pleasant surprise when we dropped in on a whim and discovered so much more. Cafe de Mesilla (formerly El Comedor) has been transformed into a breakfast/lunch place in historic Mesilla. The chairs are the same, the walls have recently been painted bright contrasting but comfortable colors. It is a friendly environment with art work on the walls. The breakfast dishes are delicious as are the sandwiches. Great place to sit and chat in a... More

Unique restaurant with a southwest flair. Omelettes are superb, the red sauce is hearty and mildly spicy, everything is prepared fresh and with care.

We have recently retired to Australia after 5 weeks in the South West of the US. Cafe de Melilla was the best coffee that I had whilst in the USA. We are spoilt for good coffee in Australia and very hard to find in the USA. Breakfast was also really tasty. Nice way to start the day.

We went here twice suing a three day stay in Las Cruces. We were pleased with the food and mochas each time. The first time was breakfast. I had pancakes and my husband had eggs. Both very good. We both sat a while reading and enjoying our mochas. Lovely setting. Loved the building and courtyard.

This sweet little cafe is larger than it looks and very comfortable. I enjoy meeting friends there for coffee and a chat. The place is very colorful and filled with cafe tables, comfortable chairs, sofas, you name it. If you're down in Mesilla, this is a great place to sit and relax.

I love the new location of Cafe de Mesilla! The beautiful, bright umbrellas perched high above the stone wall calls customers into a warm, friendly environment. I suggest anything on the menu, especially the soup, enjoy her coffee and international deserts!! One of the few places around for miles that offers European deserts and coffee and makes them right!
