Delicious! We had the fried pepper for an appetizer. They were not hot but tasty. Split the mad pepper hamburger and we both loved it. Our waiter was very attentive and helpful

My wife and I attended our 4th (in the last 5 years) CrawDaddy Blues Fest at Mineshaft on 5/18/2024. We will never attend again! We bought $30/person advanced tickets, arrived 30 minutes before 1:30pm start and waited 45 minutes to get in. There seemed to...be 2x as many people as previous years and 1/2 the number of tables and chairs. As a result the one food line was 2 - 3 hrs long, never shortened in the 3 hrs we were there and, it was rumored they ran out of crawfish! The drink line was not much better as I waited 40 minutes for refreshments. We left 3 hrs after arrival without eating, no place to sit and feeling ripped off for paying $60 cover charge and only aggravation in return. The MineShaft prioritized greed over customer satisfaction at this year’s CrawDaddy fest and lost 2 loyal local customers.More

Good food and good beer! My husband got the wagyu burger and I got the corned beef platter for St Patty’s day. It was delicious and the service was great!! Cool little town.

Stopped here on the way to Santa Fe. We should have kept going. The wife was hungry so we stopped for a bite to eat. First thing you notice is how greasy of a greasy spoon type of restaurant this place really is. The place...was very busy but we were managed to get a table. We ordered the wagyu burger and a couple drinks. Service was slow. The burger Patty itself was tasty but the topping is left a lot to be desired. The fries to come out hot and crispy. The place has a seating capacity around 100 but only has one toilet for men and one toilet for women. Wouldn't eat here again.More

This is a favorite of my sister and brother-in-law who often drive down from Santa Fe. From the outside appearance it looks like a dive but actually is a nice restaurant used in the tv series Longmire (Red Pony). Burgers were good. Fun place.

I have lived in NM for 30 years, and I love Green Chile Cheese Burgers (GCCB), but can't believe I've just now tried the version at The Mine Shaft. It was quite excellent. I had the Wagyu version, a big fan of Lone Mountain, who...supplies the beef—perfectly cooked at med rare, lovely green chile (not too hot, great flavor), nice bun, etc. I'd say this version if in the top three in the state, I've tried (the Bobcat Bite/Santa Fe Bite+Jambo Bite and Chala Grill in Mesilla join that group). The fries at Mind Shart are superb; they leave the skins on, are perfectly salted (not overly), and are so good no ketchup or anything else is needed. That's a sign of a good fry, in my opinion. My wife had a Brisket Melt. It was quite good, too, but the burgers are the star here. I'd like to try Fish and Chips next time (with another burger, of course). Sat outside with the three Whippets, lovely. Our waiter was Matthew, and he was excellent. We will return!More

Took my wife here for a nice lunch cause I was told they had the best Green Chile cheeseburger in the state. Well, it was good but they forget the cheese. French fries were very good. Wife's BBQ brisket sandwich was good also. The waitress...however was a total b****. Ignored me when I asked her about a menu item and when I asked to see a menu because I wanted to order something else to go, she walked away and called me a f******* idiot. She was surly and arrogant and just plain rude. Big table next to us had problems also, so much so that they had the owner come over. They complained for a good ten minutes and after I had paid, waited to talk to her also and she didn't care at all. Started making excuses for the waitress and basically told me too bad, so sorry. It wasn't that busy in there and was a Saturday afternoon so of course it was a little busy and if her staff can't handle the pressure then get new staff. But I guess that they make so much money that they don't care about whether people leave unhappy or not and so we won't be coming back here ever again and I caution others to think twice about eating here....More

One of my favorite green chile cheeseburgers in the area. I usually get the tavern burger with green chile and blue cheese. Decent draft beers — from Beer Creek I think, up the road close to Santa Fe. I also liked the fried green chiles....They’ve got a bit of a bite — they serve them with ranch dipping sauce for a reason!! Really cool old saloon atmosphere and decor. Great place to end a day exploring the Turquoise Trail.More

Mom and I ate lunch at the Mine Shaft Tavern as we were making our way up to Santa Fe. We had not been here in years, and it was great to get back and check it out again! Great atmosphere, and super good burgers...make for one wonderful lunch; washed it all down with a cold beer! Great staff, lots to look at...this should definitely be in the plans as one travels between Santa Fe and Albuquerque!More

The Mine Shaft is a great place (Longmire fans they filmed the first couple or so episodes of the bar scenes here). I had a nice cold beer and a pizza with pepperoni and Chile. So delicious. The staff were great, we sat at the...bar and the bartender was awesome. Will definitely be back on the way back to Tombstone!More

Cool dive type feel in Madrid. Stopped by for lunch on way to Santa Fe after arriving in ABQ. Had the green chile cheese burger w fries. Started with the fried green chile appy - both very tasty. Also, had a local craft beer to...combat the slight heat of the chiles. As good as the food was, service (Deb) was even better. Highly recommended !More

We stopped for lunch on June 4 on our way from Santa Fe. Love the rustic look of the place with the open deck. It was very busy and looked like the most popular food ordered was burgers. I had one, and it is easy...to see why. My burger was a Green Chile Cheeseburger- super delicious. Their drink choices are great, too. I tried a local draft beer that was great. Staff here are very friendly and welcoming. I think there is one person who was exceptional - wish I knew his name - he was the person getting the food from the kitchen and bringing it to the Cantina. He was super efficient, friendly, and patient as he dealt with a very busy restaurant. Highly recommend this place.More
