I have nothing but praise for the food and the service. Truly Authentic Mexican Food. You need not look any further if you want to experience a Mexican style hospitality and cuisine.

We go here every summer when we come to visit family in NM. Most of the time the food is the reason to keep coming back. This time--because the service was so inefficient, slow, and almost rude--in addition to the food just being OK instead of excellent I am thinking we will not return. My gordita was chewy like cardboard.... More

My wife's mom was born and raised in La Union and frequented Chopes. Wife also frequented it . She introduced me to this place on a trip to Las Cruces last week and I have to admit it, the reviews were on target. We had the combo-green,red enchiladas and relleno. All were excellent. As a comparison, my mon was born... More

I lived in Las Cruces during my college days and went to Chope's all the time. Loved the food then (35 years ago) and love the food today. About 10 years ago they renovated the inside and it looks great. As it is not open on Sunday and Monday, Note that they are open for lunch, close until they are... More

I haven't been to the Valley in years but I still compare every Mexican restaurant to Chope's. This was my go to place to eat when I lived in Cruces and I'll probably eat here at least three times whenever I go back!

Have been going here for years, and the quality and taste remains the same. Excellent! Always treated like family by the employees and you can even see right into the kitchen where the cooks are making their delicious food. The margaritas and chile rellenos are terrific!

We got off the interstate b/c we read they had the best chile relleno's in the state. This 101 year old restaurant is in two parts a restaurant and a bar in two separate buildings but serving the same food. I had a taco, beef enchilada and a tamale. My wife had a relleno as well as a taco and... More

After procrastinating for a year we finally stopped for lunch. We had lunch in the restaurant and can only wonder why it took us so long to eat here. This is a family restaurant and the service is very good with the food even better. Chope's has definitely placed it self on the short list of places we will be... More

Finally ate here after hearing many stories of the delicious food. It did not disappoint! We had green Chile enchiladas with the fried egg and a chicken sopapilla with red Chile. Both were outstanding! Servers were attentive and very friendly. We really enjoyed the whole experience!
