Service was friendly and helpful. Mexican food was okay. Not as good or spicy as in the past. I've been eating here off and on for 40 years. This time the red chili had no kick but was flavorful. Mexican food is very basic! Homemade corn tortilla chips and flout tortillas, but salsa was lackluster! We had Beef or Chicken... More

OK - 1st, this is New Mexican food not Tex-Mex and there is a difference...Do not come here expecting Fajitas or anything of the like.....2nd - anyone who does not think this is the best food of its type is suspect..... The restaurant is one of the most consistent of any i have every visited. The wait will be long,... More

Go to Chopes in La Mesa now this is really the Real Deal. Trust Me! I have been here several times, shady location, food is ok but to be ranked 1# there is no way.

I've heard that this was the best chili rellano in the state. I was sad to find out that it doesn't come close to some I've had in Las Cruces and even in Colorado. The wait was 2 hours, so I was sure it was worth it. It was actually just average mainly. I will say they did have really... More

Family run bar/restaurant for many years and are well known in area for best service and food. Very small area, as it was a house, but many nooks and crannies for seating. Their Chili Rellenos are the best around and well know for them.

We have been visiting Las Cruces twice yearly for over a decade but this was the first time we had a Chope's experience. The traditional decor is coupled with a quaint ambience. I ordered a combo and my favorites were the beans, taco and chile relleno (which I can't stop thinking about - my favorite ever!). Not sure as to... More

Not a long road trip (like 25 minutes). But a great land mark in the Las Cruces, New Mexico area. The charm is there, but I just don't like eating with flies. A confused waitress who just couldn't get our orders right. Our meal arrived and we didnt have silver ware. My wife requested a replacement for the salsa (salsa... More

I was long aware of Chope's and driven by it numerous times on my travels along Route 28. My wife had at best lukewarm interest to eat there so stopped by for a late lunch while she was out of town. Food was excellent; clientele was interesting, service was goodt.
