I'm in Hobbs a lot, and was looking for something different besides the same places I frequent to eat. I tried this place and it is very lackluster. I had brisket, ribs, slaw and baked beans. The brisket was a little rubbery, had no smoke...ring, had no flavor and was a little under cooked. The ribs were overcooked, had no flavor or smoke taste, and it seemed more like eating pork roast. The slaw was your run of the mill chopped cabbage with sauce, nothing to brag about. The baked beans were decent, and were by far the best item on my plate. Hobbs needs a good BBQ place, there is good opportunity here for one for sure.More

I really enjoy the bbq at Bovine. I have tried Dickies and was very disappointed. Bovine has real authentic food and the staff is so friendly and accommodating. They went out of their way to make sure that I was able to place a catering...order that would feed 14 people for under my budget. Love this place and will recommend it to anyone who asks.More

I had a two meat platter. I got brisket and ribs with coleslaw and beans&rice. The ribs were great. The brisket was dry needed salt while cooking. And the side were top notch. When I have to work here again I'll go back just skip...on the brisket.More

Classic BBQ joint atmosphere, the brisket was fantastic, the turkey was amazing, and the sausage was delicious. I'm not much of a BBQ fan but the BBQ sauce seems to make or break it for me- B&S's hot bbq sauce was fantastic! There definitely isn't...a reason to go anywhere else for BBQ while you're in Hobbs.More

I'm surprised at the high ratings. I'm from Texas so maybe I'm a BBQ snob, but this really want very good. I suppose it's aight for a small New Mexico town, but I won't eat there again.

Great sliced brisket and their chicken is good also. Make sure you order lean cuts(brisket). Their sides are usually decent.

I go to Bovine and Swine's a lot. Sadly this is due to the fact that there is not much to choose from in Hobbs, in my opinion. With that said, I have had mostly consistent great meal quality and always great service. A couple...of times I have gone and ordered the moist brisket and something about its texture has been amiss. Otherwise, I love their green beans and baked beans. I will continue going to this restaurant as long as I'm working in Hobbs if they stay like they are.More

WOW! Overpriced food and outdated inside equals SKIP this place. The food is wayyyy overpriced for a lot of fatty meat. The sauce is bland and average. The outdated inside just makes is look dirty. I'd pass on this place, would NOT go again.

This little BBQ place is next to a pizzeria. It is a quaint little local place to enjoy some good BBQ. Portions are good sized for the money. The chicken is moist and perfectly seasoned. My hubby said the mild sausage and turkey plate was...delicious. We tried the slaw, potato salad, and red beans and rice.More

Each time we visit Hobbs we stop here. This time we got the pulled pork family pack with 2 sides. It came with 4 large buns but we had enough meat to make 6 sandwiches. Very tasty. I gave it a 4 because I've definitely...had better BBQ in Texas. Also, I thought their tiny prep area could have been cleaner. As a business owner myself, I would expect more from my employees in the way of dress and customer relations. It just makes for a more enjoyable experience.More

This is a nice place to visit if you like tender ribs. They really do fall off the bone, even to the point that I had ribs all over me when I arrived at my destination! (Yes, I was driving and eating!? If I am...in the area, I'd like to eat there again.More

Good brisket and chicken. My daughter loves the scalloped potatoes. They have different sauces to choose from.Food wasn't that hot upon delivery but it was nice not to have to go in or pick it it up so that was excusable. A lil pricey.

Had the brisket and the chicken which were both excellent. It came with two sides and bread, and was definitely filling! But why, if there were only 6 people in front of me, did I wait at the counter to order, for more than 20...minutes? For what it's worth, do you think that in the future, when your staff see that there's a long line and people have waited, that when the customer gets to the counter, maybe one of your staff could at least say something like, "Sorry about the long wait?". Just a thought. I'd certainly come back...if I have a lot of time on my hands.More

Ok, first I've got to say...you must try the scalloped potatoes! They are to die for! Then have some moist brisket, and follow that up with some cobbler, and you've got it made! Not only is the food first rate, but the staff is helpful...and friendly! I love the whole plaza, because the kids can eat pizza next door at Big Cheese, and the Hubs and I can enjoy the delicious BBQ, all while the kids get to play games! It's a win-win! I recommend it!More
