This was great, lucky we had pre-booked as it looked like people were getting quite agitated at the time being taken for service. Meal was good and atmosphere was great. Lots of memorabilia inside..

I went to El Rancho for Breakfast in 2008...I was with my Father...Had 'Huevos Rancheros and Dad had Steak+Eggs...Both were ok, not great, but ok...MENU was Corny and Very Old! Every menu item was named for [mostly] Dead Hollywood Actors, "Jack Benny"--maybe this would be a Hamburger and Fries....but...NO ONE, Virtually NO ONE in Gallup of the 21st Century would... More

Dine with the stars! My guess is that the last stars dined here 5o years ago.. Food is "good", not excellent. Menu is more Mexican than American so expect some spices. Wine list is horrible.

The lobby of this hotel is just so beautiful---western look, photos of stars who have stayed here all over the place---you have to see it. We did not stay at this hotel, but we did eat here and really enjoyed the food.

This historic property was just a joy to walk around and check out the photos and the building. Dining was a mix of American and Mexican we had Steak and Fajitas, both excellent. Service could not be faulted, very professional. Easy access right off Interstate 40.A great stop with nice rooms on the property as well.

We would stop for lunch if passing through. Staff is/was Outstanding and food well prepared. The Servers are very attentive to you needs. The Cooks turn out a great food. I really like the Bunkhouse special for breakfast! The Prime Rib was outstanding!

Went to see the old Route 66 Gallup, NM, hotel built in '30s by brother of famous movie director, D.W.Griffith, and the home to many western movie stars. Stayed for dinner in packed non-descript hotel restaurant & was happy with economical dinner and drinks. Service was slow, because not enough wait staff who are too busy to be nice. But... More

As Chef Irvine puts it: "I needs more seasoning". I had the prime rib, it was correctly prepared, but lacked in a nice, seasoned crust. The baked potato was prepped correctly, but not cut or split, which I expect. But why serve corn with potato? That is starch, with starch; there are other veggies in this world, even green ones.

This is a very nostalgic property that needs updating. The rooms are clean but small. There are really no amenities that a modern day traveler has come to expect. For example, be sure to pack a hairdryer. The lobby is pleasant and the food is good. The reason for the two star is that the area has become very questionable.... More

We originally asked for steak prepared rare; the kitchen will not prepare "rare" beef. The server said there had been too many complaints. So we ordered fajitas which were excellent and - at the recommendation of the server - we got just one order and shred it. Asked for extra tortillas. We had a couple glasses nice wine and enjoyed...
