I had a business breakfast here. The food was Ok. There was nothing extraordinary about it. There is a selection of local food: blue corn mush and green chili dishes. I was not particularly impressed with the taste of the food or the service. However, the hotel lobby is full of history and is worth visiting. Swing by the gift... More

This hotel is a tourist stop in Gallup. They have a neat lobby. They will allow you to see inside the rooms before deciding to stay. The rooms are cute, but very small and expensive. There's an ok bar/restaurant attached, but it's spendy. There is also a room with very expensive gifts and jewelry within the hotel. Upstairs in the... More

This restaurant came highly recommended... I went to their website and reviewed the menu which was definitely southwestern... something we would have found at a Mexican restaurant ... when we were seated and looked the menu it was entirely different,,when I questioned the server she said she didn't know what was talking about... we were able to find something on... We stopped in after a long day of driving. The staff was very attentive and quick to serve us. A bit pricey compared to Mexican restaurants in California. Premises are old, authentic and worth looking around the lobby and traditional gift shop. Overall I would stop there again, if in the area.

We stopped here for lunch on the way out to Arizona just before Christmas. We both had Mexican dishes and really enjoyed them. They had Christmas music playing, but the place must have excellent acoustics as it was still quiet, though in a crowded room. The Christmas tree in the lobby of the hotel was majestic. The only two problems... More

We stopped here for dinner, frankly because the three places we tried first were all closed. The food was okay, but I think overpriced for what we got. My daughter and I both had the John Wayne burger which is served with guacamole. Mine was fine, but apparently all the jalapeños were in my daughter's, making it much too spicy... More

We were staying behind this hotel but as it was a famous old time place we gave it a visit and had coffee. It is getting a bit faded but perhaps that could be played upon more. The list of old movie stars who stayed here are a dream for those of us who still remember the old Westerns etc.... More

Well doing the route 66. Stopped by this classic old hotel. Large picture collection of all the customers who frequented the place over the years.

The upstairs hotel lobby has a GREAT photo gallery of various vintage cowboy movies that were shot nearby - worth the stop BUT The restaurant is worse than a grade school cafeteria --DO NOT eat here but do stop for the photos

We ate at El Rancho on our way through Gallup. The Tex Mex food was good, but what really makes this an experience not to be missed is way in which the main building, including the shoe shine stand, hotel lobby and restaurant space, has been carefully preserved in the state in which it existed in the hotel and restaurant's...
