Hubby and I wanted to check out Rt 66 places to eat and El Rancho seemed to be most intriguing. We enjoyed seeing pix of old movie stars that had stayed or dined there many years ago, liked the old lodge style decor, perused the extensive gift shop. The dining area was cozy, service polite and efficient. Food was good,... More

I ate here dinner and breakfast and it was filling and delicious. The blue corn mush for breakfast was delish! The margaritas with my steak and enchilada (green and red)dinner were full throttle!

My husband and I were on our way home to California from Colorado and stopped here for a late lunch. My hubby had been here before and said it was a "must see"…he was right! The hotel is very old and almost like a museum with so many interesting artifacts and historical photos. Hint: Do be sure and allow a... More

We visited this dining room for lunch. It is a must see for any movie fan. The meal was traditional New Mexico fare. It was very good. We enjoyed the atmosphere and memorabilia. A worth while stop and good lunch.

We had read good reviews about the restaurant and were not disappointed, the restraint was busy and we had to book the table which didn't matter as the bar was open, when we were seated we noticed a lot of what we were assuming were locals which is always a good sign. all our meals were significantly larger than we... El Rancho's rooms are themed with actors, actresses, and other Stars from 1940's and 1950's era. The story goes that the Hollywood types stayed here while filming western movies. It's fun and nostalgic. We like to stay in a room in the original building.

Stopped here in a drive through town- the food is pretty good. The chicken enchiladas with green chile were not bad. The salsa is excellent. The restaurant is located inside a beautiful old hotel.

The El Rancho is iconic! And for good Mexican food, it's a great choice in a great atmosphere. And the service was prompt and friendly.

Yes, you do step back in time when you enter El Rancho. Make sure to take extra time to view all the memorabilia. The food was decent but other special.
