Yes, you do step back in time when you enter El Rancho. Make sure to take extra time to view all the memorabilia. The food was decent but other special.

Restaurant is inside hotel. Hotel is worth checking out lots of old westerns filmed in or around area . Lots of photos of old Hollywood legends. Great place to walk through before or after meal. Meal was very good. Good value. Tasty food. Was very happy with meal. Good salsa.

We were passing through Gallup, needed a place to eat, and El Rancho seemed neat and different than the chain options. What we found was a little piece of Hollywood history nestled in New Mexico off Route 66. Stepping in was like stepping back to the 30s and 40s. Although it was perfectly clean and maintained, I can't imagine that... More

Dinner here was very good. Food was serve hot and spicy, which was what I had ordered. Steak was properly cooked and served with a red chile sauce. Service was good. Margaritas were not as good.

Really unique, historic hotel. Cool to see all the autographed pics of famed hollywood westerns - John Wayne, Burt Lancaster, Kirk Douglas.... and many, many more. We stayed at the Best Western across the street (which was good) but would have been nice to stay at El Rancho.

This place has history. Be sure to ask to tour some of the rooms after your meal. The food was great, the service awesome, and the old original decor is definitely an added interest! Be sure to use the second floor rest room and take note of the cute windows:)

Driving through Gallup we stopped for dinner. Service was great and food was delicious. We had fajitas and it was enough for two people. The atmosphere was wonderful. A great historic place to visit. The restaurant was very dated but that's what it was all about.

We rolled through Gallup on a Sunday so most of the restaurants and shopping areas were closed. We popped into the El Rancho hotel for lunch. It is a beautifully restored gem of the Hollywood Western movie era! We wandered around the lobby full of lovely old furniture and lots of movie stars photos. We had lunch in the restaurant....it... My husband and I ate here two times during our recent Route 66 trip. The food is good and the service is good. Be sure to tour the lobby in the hotel as it is very authentic to the old west. In it's day this was home to many movie stars who where in movies in the western area. It... More
