This is a locally owned restaurant that serves all American favorites like handmade chicken fried steak, and also excellent "New Mexican style" Mexican food. It's clean and well staffed, the food is wonderful! We discovered it about a year ago, and go back there whenever we are in the area.

A long day of travel and we wanted to stop for a meal and just relax. The food (combo #2) was good, but the non stop stream of peddlers off the street trying to sell us jewelry was not relaxing at all. Service was a bit slow, but okay. Unfortunately due to the constant interruption of our meal we would... More

I love the Chico Steak - I get this maybe twice a month at least. My husband and I like to go there. We have a close circle of friends that go there as well. Just a nice place to relax and have a great dinner.

I had a great meal here. Excellent Mexican food and polite service. My cheese enchilada was especially good.

Ate here after a long day on the road. The food was tasty and in healthy proportions, and the price was reasonable. Families, beware: Virgie's is sandwiched between an adult video store and a massage parlor; shield the kids' eyes as you walk in.

When you stop at Virgie's, I highly recommend the Chico Steak. You get a steak cooked the way you like smothered with chili (green I would say) and cheese with beans and rice. Chips and salsa comes to the tables. You are welcome to try the margaritas if you like or have the ice tea.

Great for fairly fast Mexican food and a cold draught beer. However, there were 10 different people that paraded past our table with a tray of trinkets for sale while we ate. It was disruptive, difficult to enjoy our meal and relax.

Took a seat and the owner came over talked us through the menu, it was obvious we weren't local! Very busy place... Not enough staff on but happy to wait because everything and everyone was so friendly and helpful! I had 'Number 1' which had a selection of all the food on offer, the owner was kind enough to recommend... More

Had the green chile combination plate that is famous for New Mexico and wasn't disappointed! Service was great!

A quaint little restaurant with several menu choices and great tasting food. The highlight of our visit was Sheldon, the waiter, who was a great conversationalist but not intrusive and very polite. The only downside was that every few minutes, someone would come to our table trying to sell us jewellery. Nice, courteous people, but as Canadians, we aren't used... More
