We had the fish tacos, enchiladas, and chili. It was great, the service was fabulous, and the people were very nice. I recommend the restaurant to others.

We usually stop here when we are in Gallup and they are usually busy. Service has always been excellent and the owner/manager is always keeping an eye on things to be sure the customers are happy. The food is not Tex/Mex, but very authentic; the red sauces are hot. They have a few selections for folks who are with you... More

Plenty of businessmen and office parties during the work week. It is spacious and comfortable. Families a plenty in the evening and afternoon. Bus trips come in because the food is not too hot, but is tasty. Salsa is good with lots of garlic and cilantro. The fish tacos are done on the griddle and are very good. Cheese enchiladas... More

The manager of the Comfort Suites in Gallup loves this restaurant, so we passed up the perennial favorite Lenny's to give it a try. We can say without reservation (pun intended) that the Sheepherder is a sure winner. Big 'ol burrito filled with tender thin slices of a quality cut of beef, topped with cheese, at a reasonable price. Question:... More

Third visit in as many years & never been disappointed. ONLY minor complaint would be the vendors going from table to table - food quality always top notch & service spot on! Well worth the stop!!

I ended up here after seeing that Gerrados closed for vaction the first two weeks of July. The restaurant has an unintentional retro vibe to it which makes it very cool to visit. I felt like I was back in 1975. I had the cheese enchilada with rice and beans and some lettuce an tomato on the side. The enchilada... More

The food was very good and price was priced low. The service was fast and friendly. Did not like having vendors coming to our table every 5 min to try and sell us trinkets.

We are traveling north and, being from Phoenix, AZ, have eaten hundreds of times at Mexican restaurants. There is nothing fancy about this place but the staff is very friendly. The food is average at best and a little overpriced considering the small size of the meals and that they serve a dinner burrito without beans, rice, sour cream, guacamole,... More

I had leaved in Gallup many years ago and had missed a meal called a stuff sopapilla. The one I ate here did not disappoint. My husband ordered the weekend special, which I do not remember the name of, but you can only get it on the weekend. And he said it was delicious. And while we were dining, there... More

We ate here last year and thoroughly enjoyed it. This year we ordered the same meal but it didn't seem to be quite as good. The chili rellanos tasted like they were made out of crepes rather than battered. The beans and rice were good. Service was a little slow but very friendly. Native American artists will approach you and... More
