This is a funky place, open seasonally serving great BBQ and burgers. I always enjoy whatever I order.

A bit pricey but well worth it. When I went the woman who helped me was not rude but unaccommodating. It was like she did not want us there. Almost like it was a drag that we showed up wanting food. The food overall was delicious though, and we always stop in when we have had a swim in the... More

YUM!!!!! The menu is varied and the food is excellent. It was fun sitting out under an old apple tree. The green chile cheese fries we're particularly good. It tasted like they used fresh roasted green chile. It was just the right amount of heat.

This is one of the only places to eat in the area, which explains why they're still in business. The food was swimming in grease, but the worst part was the hateful woman at the window. She treated my 67 year old mother like an inconvenience to start, then like an ill-behaved child when she asked for a spoon. I... More

Stopped here while driving between Taos and Santa Fe with friends. After reading the reviews, we knew to bring along a table cloth and were glad we did. Two of our group had the Sugar burger, one had the BBQ brisket sandwich, and I had the brisket burrito. We shared two orders of fries, which was plenty. The food was... More

This awesome little burger stand is so good! I have had the Sugar burgers, tried the beef brisket and chicken fried steak sandwich all were great! I have also tried one of their ice cream cones it was huge! Ice milk type ice cream and very good. Took a pic of the menus so I could share. There are only... More

My wife and I were taking a trip from santa fe, where we live, up to Taos to enjoy the Rio Grande in March. Stumbled upon this place and had nice food, although we apparently did not get the right dishes as I can see from the reviews. I had tacos which were so-so and she had BBQ pork sandwich.... More

Wonderful place to dine on a nice spring or summer evening; sitting outside picnic tables with a beautiful view of the mountain. Ribs are fantastic as well as brisket. The kids like the hamburgers.

I've had a few things on their menu, which aren't bad. But the reason you come here is for the Sugar Burger. 1/3 pound of excellent beef topped with the normal fixins plus green chili & mushrooms. Skipped it the first time because I wasn't in the mood for a burger, but I have seen the light. Not the hottest... More

The drive on the gorge road from Santa Fe to Taos can be tedious. However, a stop for a burger and fries at Sugar's is a nice break.
