Four of us drove over forty miles to visit this restaurant. Atmosphere is unique, worth taking a few minutes to stroll around and enjoy. Server was exceptionally pleasant, knowledgeable of menu items, however, service was very slow. Perhaps not enough servers. Three of the four...meals were good, large quantities, tasty. French onion soup was excellent, however, my ribeye steak was overcooked, tough and lacking flavor. Will not return in the future.More

Very cool place, but recommend maybe grab a beer and appetizers at the bar. We had the fried green beans and they were great, but our entrees were not the best. Buffalo burger was very dry and overcooked (ordered med and no pink at all),...then waited almost 10 mins for the condiments. Ribeye was better and had the salad and baked potato - it was a bit over cooked, too, but still good and large piece. Be aware of ordering a drink with a brand because it may be double the price. The old fashioned using Elijah Craig bourbon was $18!More

My husband and I stop here routinely. We like to take friends that haven’t been here because of the eclectic interior, but each time we are having to apologize for the service and food. Not only have we had to wait a very long time...for food and drinks, but often items on their menu aren’t available. Our last visit was the same and items ordered were never delivered and yet still on our bill. The meals are generous, but underwhelming and very expensive. Our last visit in January will be our last.More

Tasteless chunk of beef that seems like it was baked. Worst steak I’ve ever had that was more than $15. Restaurant website has old prices $28.50 but paid $36.50 today. If the steak was good then it wouldn’t be an issue. Onion soup was good.

This is an old (supposedly haunted) school house in the middle of the desert. It's filled with tons of old collections, very eclectic, and fun to see. The service is okay; it seems short staffed, but that's a sign of the times during a pandemic....Call ahead for reservations. Food is good. The menu online is not current and is significantly reduced to one page and higher prices. We had the filet; while it was cooked perfectly, it had no seasoning other than the bacon. The potato and onion soup were excellent. Probably the best onion soup I've had, loaded with cheese and very hot.More

this was recommended by our instructors, so I went here and OH BOY was I impressed. from the outside it just looked like a run down ranch house but as you walk inside the ambiance is creepy and interesting as the same time. the food...was great and the staff were very welcoming. I came to find out that the place is haunted and a TV show has been there multiple times. I would definitely return and you should try to make your way there. enjoyMore

1st let me state that we are (WAS) a regular guest at the restaurant and have always been so full when I left that I could hardly breath (that's a good thing by the way) and always tipped our waitress very well. This time something...big has changed. The dining room wasn't very full there were three tables including us. It took a bit longer than expected to order, the menu was so cut down it was only one page. It advertised King crab legs (which they haven't had for some time now-tip to owner FIX your menu!). When we ordered our drinks she set them down and stated I THINK that's diet when I tried to tell her that I was a diabetic and could not drink regular soda she was already gone. So when she brought the soup I asked her for a class of water. We were still charged for the soda. I would like to note that the glasses were these little glass mason jars, it would not hardly make it through a meal. Husbands soda was empty before he could finish his meal. We didn't bother to try to get it refilled because after the meal arrived I still had not gotten my water. The soup had no onions in it. Guys! you are known for this soup! I would have asked for another but couldn't get the waitress to stop long enough to ask. This was the worse service we have received anyway in a long time. The meal was disappointing. He ordered his usual pork ribs, they were so tough I watch him saw at them and there was very little sauce. Onion rings (only three of them) were oily and the french fries were so over cooked that were crunchy. My meal which I have been ordering because I can't get my crab legs, is the Fisherman's catch. This is usual generous plate of deep fried items. This time is was ONE crab cake cut in half, 4 small burnt round things (I have no idea what they used to be but were inedible because they tasted like cinders), four small shrimp, one plank of fish (so flat that a credit card stacked twice would equal it) and asparagus (cooked very well, BUT it was placed on a lace decoration that literally melted into it so I spent some time getting it out of that to eat it). This plate costs over $25 and was so overcooked that everything that wasn't burnt was so over cooked that it all tasted like old oil. Listen we all understand that the Covid thing has effected business and can understand cutting the menu back, but if your going to offer a plate of $25 it should at least fill me up. When we checked out we mentioned that the meal was the worst we ever had here and she said yah that happens. It came to $73.74. Now usually this wouldn't bother me, I don't mind paying for a GOOD meal and usually tip the cook and the waitress bring the bill up to around $150. This time, for the first time in a long time, I did not leave a tip for either. But this is not the end of the story. We opened out credit card statement and discovered that they had authorized $88.49! please note the bill was $73.74 so our waitress decided to tip herself anyway! When you can't even trust your service to process your bill its a shame. We called the restaurant and was told "I know who worked that day I will look into it and call you back" We did NOT receive the call back. The bill, however was fixed. we should NOT have had to do this. So, you ripe people off with poor prepared food, with tiny burnt potions cutting back on quality and quantity is NOT a way to attract diners to you. Your establishment is miles out of town but we didn't mind the drive (from Silver City) because we used to love your food and service. Dropping two frozen chocolate dipped strawberries (and i do mean dropped as she ran by us) does not cover up this disgrace. We will NOT be back and its a shame.More

After having read about the Adobe Deli or a few years we decided to take the ride. Everything we read turned out to be true. Boy is it eclectic, make sure you're not in a hurry, there's a lot to see in this former school....We were there for an early lunch on a Wednesday. I had the sausage hero and my wife the pulled pork, both came with fries. We could have split either and still probably taken some home. Very large and very good. We'll go back.More

This is an interesting restaurant. Worth seeing, but the steaks, for us, were a huge disappointment. Salad was excellent. Baked potato was OK. Steaks were tough. Wife ordered rare I ordered medium rare. Both were cooked the same…..medium. Very tough. Lacked flavor. Our server was...very inexperienced. Over priced.More

On my way home from AZ to CO, I stopped in Deming, NM, for gas and a bite to eat. I hadn't eaten all day. I asked the convenience store attendant if there was a family run home cooking type restaurant nearby. I didn't want fast food; I wanted a good meal. She thought for a moment and told me to go to the Adobe Deli. She told me to turn left at the car dealership and drive like I was going out of town and then take the first right turn. What she failed to mention was that it was far from town. I found the car dealership and turned left then drove and drove and drove. I'm out in the middle of nowhere thinking that I've been sent to Stabbyville and I was going to wake up in a hole waiting to be a skin suit. But, I shook it off and asked myself where my sense of adventure was. To my delight, Adobe Deli was a great steakhouse/sports bar. I had a wonderful meal. Staff was nice, place was clean and the food was great. Definitely a recommend.More

Read the reviews and it looked like an interesting place for a good quick lunch. Interesting, yes. Quick, absolutely not! Food, was just ok and several things we tried to order from the menu were not available. I had a French Dip and the au...jus was pure fat, but the bread was good. Hubby ended up ordering a foot long with chili, mustard, and chopped onions. Green chili’s instead of beef chili was used. Chopped onions showed up halfway through lunch and the mustard never appeared. They were way under staffed so our quick lunch turned into a long, unhappy ordeal.More

Our visit was actually on 6/7/2017. We were a group of 8 pilots in 4 planes that flew coast to coast from St Augustine FL to San Diego and back. Our leader Giorgio lives in JAX FL and was born in Italy. Half the group...were pilot friends from Italy. We landed at Deming Airport and were greeted in the General Aviation terminal by a huge rattlesnake in a large aquarium. The Adobe Deli was recommended by the desk clerk at the Hampton Inn. I walked in first and saw these cowboys at the bar with huge belt buckles. My first thought was that my Italian friends and I are going get beat up😊. The steaks were great. The proprietor is a transplanted Long Islander where I graduated high school and college. The Adobe Deli was an experience I’ll never forget highlight of our Coast to Coast adventure.More

We drove to Deming and decided to go to Adobe Deli as we had been there several times prior to the COVID break out, and it has been excellent. There was no one at the door to greet us. After about 5 minutes of waiting,...I went to find someone, who told me to sit wherever. A waitress came in about 5 minutes to bring menus. About 20 minutes later she returned to take our drink order. We waited another 20 minutes for her return to take our food order. We both ordered ribeye steaks. It took another 30 minutes for her to bring our food. My steak was about half fat and gristle. The other half was tough and tasteless. We were there almost two hours. It will be a while for us to recover from this very disappointing experience.More

Had reservations at 2PM on January 23. We ordered around 2:15. Couldnt stay because of the smoke from the fire that are used to heat the tent (not Adobe Deli's fault). Ordered tea to drink while we waited for our order. At 3:30 still have...not received out to go order. Couldnt get a refill on tea, even though we asked over 3 times. Mind you the beer drinkers were able to get refills. Were so mad by then, (and hungry) had words with the waitress who wasnt symptomatic at all. 2 tables that had ordered after us got their food and the waitress denied it. When we left, they shorted our meal of salads and sides we ordered and paid for. When I called to complain was told We would receive a gift certificate. Looks like it will arrive when h..l freezes over.More
