Chimayo is a special place and the Rancho is THE place to eat when you visit. Reasonably priced and delicious, the New Mexican dishes feature the famed local chiles. Visiting at lunch, I had the carne adovada plate, featuring tender chunks of pork made brick-red from chile, served with posole and Spanish rice -- delicious. The dish is the house... More

This restaurant was just given the 2016 James Beard award for traditional cuisine and boy do they deserve it! We enjoyed a marvelous dinner here with Prickly Pear Margaritas, Stuffed Sopapillas and Tacos, and creamy Flan for dessert. You would expect to pay a lot for dinner in a place like this, but our bill was only about $60 for... More

We have enjoyed this restaurant many times over the years. The food is classic New Mexican, showing off the unique mastery of the chile, which is central to this cuisine. Don't miss this.

On a tour through New Mexico this restaurant was chosen for us because off it's historical significance , award winning restaurant and it being sited as a New Mexico Culinary Treasure. We were not disappointed in the least. The charm of the restaurant is felt immediately when you enter the grounds. The court yard entrance has a small statute and... More

This restaurant, like all of Chimayo we saw, was very beautiful. We were there for lunch on Halloween day and all the servers were in costume. We were seated in a garden type enclosed room next to the outdoor patio. The food was wonderful, I had a fajita salad that was so good I really didn't need the dressing. Sopapillas... More

Definitely good place to sit and enjoy a meal. Unfortunately it seems like every meal has about a cup of cheese spread over it. Besides that the flavors are pretty good.

We ate here at lunch. We were seated in a bright cheery glass enclosed room overlooking the patio. Service was attentive, food was very good. One of us had the white wine sangria, another had the red, and they agreed the white is excellent. This is a busy place, but we did not feel rushed. It's full of "ladies who... More

We read so many wonderful reviews about this restaurant, their beautiful facility and award winning food! We drove out of our way to go to this restaurant, and it was a great disappointment! Arrived after a bus load of tourist, who were seated in their patio, and they couldn't keep up with the bus load and individuals...they are overrated and... More

This has been one of my favorites for over twenty years. This family owned restaurant of historic New Mexico settlers is a great retreat from the hustle and bustle of Santa Fe. Friendly place with a traditional New Mexican/Mexican cuisine-- your usual chips, salsa, enchiladas, tamales, rellanos , beans and rice in an expansive old ranch house. Well prepared dishes... More

This will be the second time we have "tried" to give Rancho de Chimayo a second chance. It used to be a genuine highlight of any trip to the Santa Fe area. Great food and good service, every single time. Today we were hopeful one more time. We walked in and were greeted by a very sullen hostess who just... More
