We visited Berat last year during summer season and wanted to dine at Mangalemi since we had heard so many good words from locals and also very good reviews everywhere. Unfortunately at that time everything was fully booked. So we couldn't miss it this time....Restaurant had a characteristic ambiance and traditional look. Waiters were very polite and professional (very good English speakers). We ordered pispili, which I loved, and lots of small appetisers/starters. My main dish was imam bajaldi which It was delicious and my partner had lamb meat with oven patatoes that was tasty as well. Everything was nicely presented and came in the right order. We just felt bad that we were the only people in the restaurant and that was empty in October. The total bill was 2500 lek which included half liter of wine, water, pispili,Greek salad, chips, xaxiqi, imam bajaldi and lamb meat. Very very cheap and very tasty. I would recommend it to everyone for lunch or diner. You wouldn't get disappointed.More

We had lunch in this restaurant, it was traditional and their specialties were delicious, especially “Byrek me kungull” or pumpkin pie, the dessert as well.

One of the many advantages of traveling with a local tour guide is that they always know the best places to eat! I had lunch here during a day trip from Tirana and were very impressed, The service was impeccable, the decor has style, and...the food was outstanding and well priced. I ordered several Albanian dishes ... none of which I could pronounce and I don't remember any of them ... but all were delicious, well presented and well priced.More

Delightful food and perfect service. The waiter was very accommodating and he had just the right balance of friendliness and efficiency. The food was exceptional,we tried Tave Kosi and Schnitzel beef. We will definitely come back.

Visiting in off season you expect quieter restaurants, here it was practically empty. Even though the food and service were wonderful.

Ordered a number of traditional dishes to share between eight of us and everything was great. Good fresh local flavours and nothing pretentious. Had Tave Kosi which is apparently the national dish; never had it before and loved it. Friendly service from some English speaking...waiters. Recommended ...as of course is Berat!More

This restaurant provides delicious food at an affordable price and good service from the charming waiters who will provide details of the dishes on the menu. The roof top terrace is very pleasant unless you can ignore the noisy groups which arrive after seven usually....However there are quieter areas to dine in the hotelMore
