I never leave Bali without having had a night out of dining at La Lucciola. On this occasion it was our last night of a journey across Indonesia. What better way to celebrate the end of our wonderful holiday.
La Lucciola entered the Bali dining arena some decades ago and have never lost their place in the fine dining landscape. Located on the beachfront at Seminyak, this restaurant is equally fantastical in the daylight hours at it is the evening.
Last time we were in Bali we came for an afternoon of Gelati and drinks. This time we had the full on evening experience beginning with a sparkling white wine and then all the courses to follow. It was a family affair and between us we explored the entire menu. Favourites were: Entree of Scallops; Mains of Roasted Tenderloins of Pork; Roasted Tenderloins of Angus Beef; and King Prawn Linguini. I was the only one with space for dessert, so I kept it simple and had a modest serving of Vanilla Ice cream (Gelato). One of us required gluten free dishes and bread. This was available and it is worth mentioning that the bread was reportedly more than delicious.
As I recall we had a great Jazz soundtrack to this evening. We were so transported by our experience that I think we were the last patrons to leave. There was no pressure, we just happened to notice that everyone had gone home, that is, except us.
This restaurant is open for breakfast right through to late evening. It is always a good idea to call them or email to book a table for evening dining. We asked for a table overlooking the beach, and this is what we got. That is probably why we didn't notice we were the last people there, it seemed to us that we were the only people there, dining on the terrace of our own private palace.
The restaurant is in fact shielded from the beach itself by a modern version of a HaHa wall. That is achieved by sloping the forecourt upwards so that you can't actually see the beach and people on the beach can't actually enter your space.
This restaurant is separated from its parking area by a stream over which there is a bridge. So you leave the secular and enter the magical by walking over this bridge, and there your exquisite dining experience will begin.
Another interesting spacial aspect of this restaurant is the parking lot. It is actually owned and overseen by the local Banjar (small local government body). The revenue from the parking fees go to them in exchange for the use of their space. This is a amicable and fair partnership that has endured the decades.
The staff of this restaurant are at the top of their profession, the kitchen produces consistently excellent menus. The ambiance is transporting. And La Lucciola endures.
The toilets are clean and pleasantly arranged.

Each time in Seminyak we try to eat at La Lucciola at least 3-4 times fir lunch or dinner. We were fortunate enough to gain a booking for New Years Eve dinner, they went to so much trouble to decorate the restaurant and prepare it fir a memorable night. We had a great evening in a beautiful setting to bring in the new decade.

Highly recommend. Family, friends and couple friendly. The food is delicious and the location is beautiful. Very relaxing and scenic. You can’t book for breakfast or lunch so just be prepared to wait 10 mins or so to a table becomes available. This is my second time visiting and I will be back.

The service was the best we experienced in Bali. Wait staff hovered out of sight, but were super attentive, first restaurant in Bali we have had staff wait for all parties to finish eating before clearing. The food was amazing also, beautiful antipasto platter to start followed by a flavourful mains. We ate early and were treated to a beautiful sunset as it is set right on the beach.

We asked for the WiFi password on arrival, only to be told there was no WiFi, and we understood why, when we started to see some of the beautiful meals coming out of the kitchen.
I think we just needed to put our phones back in our bags and concentrate on the experience and the food.
While we have been visiting Bali for over a decade, and had this restaurant recommended to us on many occasions, it has taken us until now to finally walk up its steps from the beach, sit down and marvel at the sunset through the palm trees while we peruse the menu.
While there were other options on the menu we both had to go for the pasta.. when in Rome as they say.
We were not disappointed. It was worth the wait and the explosion on our palates. We had wanted to try the tiramisu but with entrees, complimentary breads with beautiful olive oil and balsamic and a main course, the thought of a dessert was out of the question. I guess we had to leave something for next time. As with all Italian recipes it’s all about enhancing the ingredients and La Lucciola certainly did not disappoint.

We have been dining at La Luciola every time we are in Bali for several decades. Whether for brunch, lunch, or dinner, La Luciola never disappoints. The airy restaurant provides a stunning view of Petinget Beach no matter where you are seated. The wait staff are well-trained and attentive to customers. The food is just exquisite. We have never had a bad meal or experience at La Luciola. The location offers one of the best sites for sunset viewing on Bali! Looking forward to our next visit!

We are regular visitors to Bali and we always return to La Lucciola.
Good food, good service and great value. The location right on the beach is excellent of course and if you ask a table on the first floor you will have a beautiful view of the ocean (not visible from ground level). The food is tasty, well presented and the chef takes pride in proposing a good italian cuisine (no pizza here!!). This restaurant also offers a relaxed atmosphere, good cocktails and you can even enjoy your lunch in flip-flops, even though at night it will be more smart/casual dress code. La Lucciola is one of our favorites and we always visit when in Bali.

This restaurant was recommended to us, so we booked a table (highly recommend you do), the service was top notch, nothing was too much trouble. The Italian food was great, we had 3 courses, entree of scallops and antipasta, mains were seafood rossito and soft crab spaghetti, followed by a sample plate of their desserts, all delicious.
The restaurant is on the beach with terrific views.
It is on the higher price range but well worth it.

After arriving in Seminyak in the afternoon, and my partner riding the tail-end of 'Bali belly', we had three requirements when looking for somewhere to head for dinner - close by to our hotel, fairly simple food choices and great overall reviews. Thankfully, La Lucciola ticked all of these boxes!
After a short wait (as we had no table booked, and sat in the waiting area with a pair of cocktails) we were seated upstairs, giving us a lovely view of the palm tree-lined beachfront, which were all beautifully lit in the warm Balinese night. The waiting staff were all courteous and attentive, and seemingly within no time at all our meals appeared before us. The restaurant itself was quite packed, and we could see people amassing in the waiting area mere moments after we had left. If that's not the best measure of a restaurant, I don't know what is.
Oh wait, the food! That's the best measure of a restaurant! My partner, due to his delicate constitution at the time, went for a simple cheesy gnocchi dish, while I went for one of the seafood options. We wolfed down our meals in record time, which is usually a testament to the chef. and it was a sign that my partner was getting better. All in all, we couldn't have asked for a better start to our time in Seminyak.

We always have at least one breakfast here every time we come to Bali, we had our very first dinner here in January .....and as usual the food and the service was impeccable, the sunset was stunning . If you go to Bali La Lucciola must be at the top of your list of places to eat ....you will not be disappointed .

The best thing about this place is definitely the location, you have a very calming view on the beach and sea and with a bit of wind makes for a fantastic view with lots of people taking pictures on the grass in front of the restaurant. The staff is good and efficient. Disappointed that they only sell Prosecco by the glass and not by the bottle The menu is rich in options, however, the food is rather average. The pappardelle with beef was too sour and Cacio e Pepe was lacking flavor, had to add more pepper and a bit of salt. I have not been here for couple of years but would post pretty much the same review on my first visit 4 or 5 years back.

We have been to La Luciola previously and had an amazing time. We dined there last night and the food was below average I recommended it to our friends and we were all so disappointed I was upset that I suggested we all go there. Entree was zucchini flowers which were crispy but the filling had no flavour. Two of us had the spaghetti with crab it was so oily and greasy, My husband had the Risotto with duck and it was like over cooked porridge. They waited asked if we liked our meals and we said the pasta was greasy he said it was an oil based sauce. We asked for the bill before they took out plates away, perhaps they could have asked us if we would have liked to try something else, there was no service recovery. For a fine establishment like this I would have thought they might try to make a bad situation a bit better. They just let us walk we won’t go back.

The restaurant is located on the shore and has a very nice view of the sunset. The Italian restaurant has a good ambience and the food is very good. Only reason I didn’t give it a 5 point is that for a high end restaurant, to serve bread once and then charge for a small piece of extra bread was most uncalled for and unbecoming of a tip class restaurant. I would have given it a 3 point but for the food and service.

La Lucciola has maintained its standards over the many years I’ve been visiting.
When I land in Bali I always head straight there for lunch with the family. The beach setting is awesome, staff are lovely and food never disappoints. I feel I’ve arrived in Bali once I get into the restaurant.
A forever favourite are zucchini flowers stuffed, calzone and recently we tried the mimi pizzas with fig. All good !
It’s good for lunch or dinner. But there’s a no reservation policy for lunch. And pleased be dressed properly for dinner.

Our dinner at La Lucciola was left until our last night in Bali for a reason, we wanted to make it special.
We arrived early to enjoy a drink at Sunset before moving to our table for dinner. The meals were excellent and the service attentive, whilst at the same time allowing us time to enjoy each course before the next course was served.
We have been luck enough to have enjoyed many fine restaurants around the world - La Lucciola is well and truly on our favourites list.
