Dinner for four of us, the tasting menu but not with the wine pairing. We simply ordered our own glasses of wine which meant everyone had what they wanted. The food and service could not be faulted and was made more pleasurable by the chiefs...More
Went there with a group of 15 people. We did the four courses. We had an amazing experience there! The food is one of the finest in the area, very special, lots of flavors and excellent service. We will be back for sure! I totally...More
As we were at the restaurant a year ago and enjoyed it than, this time we were very disappointed.
It is very expensive, considering the prices in S.A.
Every dish of the tasting menu was served by somebody else, and they all had difficulty to...More
While the tasting menu is certainly creative, some dishes like the poached chicken are over-engineered. Too heavy, too much. Unfortunately, the wines are limited to Waterkloof's own, which are of medium quality. But a fabulous scenic view from the restaurant, and very friendly service.
From Cape Town on the N2 or the more interesting route on the R 310 from Muizenberg in about 1 hour drive you drive through a secured gate up the mountain through a vineyard

The service is impeccable, the chefs cream of the crop, and the views outstanding! We took photos of each of the 7 courses. And the wine pairings from Waterkloof's own vineyard...More

Not one that is written down anywhere, BUT, it is a special place even if you are just visiting for lunch it is nice to be 'smart/casual'. I would say no shorts, no vests and be comfortable...... a cool summer dress/skirt and top for the ladies and smart trousers and a shirt for the guys. I don't recall seeing many people in denim. Enjoy

Hi, agree with the previous comments. Waterkloof is an excellent restaurant (with a wine tasting lounge) with a fabulous view, but is not a B&B. Definitely need to check your travel plans.
Hope this helps.
