We stopped for lunch at the Rooiberg winery - home of the world's biggest chair. Lunch is available in the restaurant next door to the winery with the Rooiberg wines available at the same price as at the cellar door, so lunch was accompanied by the Rooiberg Merlot reserve which was delicious. I had a vegetarian quiche and salad which... More

En route from Cape Town to Oudtshoorn we stopped for a coffee break at Robertson. The blazing open fire was a real attraction and the great selection of fresh pastries (which were very cheap) was excellent. Great coffee and soups. Would stop again for a main meal

On our way back from our long weekend we decided to stop for lunch, recommended by my parents in law. What a disappointment! Theres no staff on the floor. Waited over 20minutes for our drinks, then another hour and and a half for 4 burgers. Food didn't taste that bad, but only to find that the leaves on the burgers... More

Mediocracy at its best :poor service, no manager response, old french loaf in the place of ciabata bread. A bad eating out experience

I have been her a couple of times for breakfast and as such I can highly recommend the omelets - although you should never eave without a couple of pastries!

This restaurant is on the premises of Rooiberg Winery and next door to the wine tasting venue. Having often driven past the winery we decided recently to stop and try a wine or two. The big red chair is a landmark that is difficult to miss and we were glad we made the stop. It is so easy to just... More

We were en-route to Montagu for the weekend and stopped over for a late lunch. I had the bobotie wrap R55, my hubby had the chicken curry &rice R60. Cappucino was delicious. We didn't have time to enjoy the cake but bought pineapple danish and a apple danish take-away which we only had the next day but it was still... More

This is a beautiful restaurant. Sitting outside with the breeze blowing is equally beautiful. The wine is so cheap, it is a steal. We tried the Finch River bubbly today with its golden packaging and it complemented the Chicken Almondine famously. This is a wonderful dish: chicken breast stuffed with chicken liver, wrapped in bacon and smothered in the most... More

This is a place you must try if you are passing by at lunch time. Excellent home made food and bread with some seriously good value wines. The atmosphere is friendly and the service is great. We'll be back!!
