We were a group of 12 friends who had a lot of fun making the Karoo tappas with chef Jaco. Although we were a big group, most of us with very little experience in the kitchen, he managed to help us create a delicious meal in a very relaxed atmosphere. We stayed in accommodation provided by African Relish, it was... More

An absolutely fantastic experience. Me and my girlfriend have been increasingly interested in food lately and this culminated in a route 62 road trip from Cape Town to Prince Ablert to attend this cooking class. IT WAS AMAZING, we are still going on about it. We visited in winter so we were lucky enough to have the prestigious chef all... More

As a writer, it’s not often that my mouth is too full of exquisite flavours that I can’t find words to describe an experience but I’m going to give this my best shot. I am in awe of the experience I had at African Relish. Every single part was far better than I could have ever imagined. My partner and... More

We spent 2 wonderful days in Prince Albert. We checked into our beautifully decorated self catering B&B attached to African Relish and were able to walk everywhere. We did a half day cooking course with Chef Jaco and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of a very unique experience. The staff all went way and beyond what we expected. Once we were... More

We attented a one-day cooking course presented by chef Jaco Fourie. Not quite knowing what to expect we were more than pleasantly surprised by the experience. The chef proved to be highly skilled, knowledgeable on a wide range of food and cooking matters and more than willing to patiently answer even the most trivial questions. The day turned out to... We had a wonderful 2 days of cooking lessons with chef Jaco Fourie at African relish. We learnt so much, cooked up a storm and then ate the results for dinner and lunch. You choose the type of cooking you want to learn about when you book eg sauces or Italian or desserts so the course is relevant to you.... More

African Relish really was the highlight of my trip to PA. I love cooking classes and several of my SA friends had recommended it. I did two classes - meat and the tapas class and both were really enjoyable. The location is stunning and I learned so much about the wonderful food of South Africa. Jaco was our instructor and... We attended a cooking course at Africa Relish and had lunch and dinner as part of the spoils. A lovely setting that allows for a good learning experience. Well equipped to deal with cooking classes up to 10 at a time. It was boiling hot and the pool came in handy. Would recommend you make use of it, if there... More

Having been let down on a reservation at another venue we managed to get a table at African Relish. The venue and setting is fantastic and the dinning space opens onto a well trimmed lawn but not before a huge open fireplace with flickering flames catches your eye. The Chef and team can be seen at work in the open... More
