It gets really busy, so grab a table as soon as you get there and then send someone to place your order :) the hake here is the best ever, they have a market on Saturday's nearby and You will be able to see seals if you walk a little to the parking area nearby.

We had the snoek and chips. It was not the worst I have ever had, but if was definately not the best. The food was quite bland.

I would imagine this is where the locals come for their daily fish and chips. A little more rustic and less tourist orientated Fish on the Rocks serves some really yummy Fish and Chips meals. I particulary loved the Yellow Tail and chips. Pricing is reasonable and seating ok (could maybe do with a little bit more). My only critiscism... More

Whenever we go to Cape Town the very first thing we do is go to Fish On The Rocks - for my husband the best fish 'n chips ever! and you can choose your fish - snoek, hake, kabbeljou - all fresh from the sea on a daily basis. And for me prawns 'n chips - to die for!

A visit to Cape Town is never complete without finishing off at Fish on the Rocks. The facilities are quite basic - and you get to share your lunch with the seagulls. But what a view over the Bay to Chapman's Peak Drive. The food is cheap and cheerful and is always of a high quality - if you are... More

I originally heard really great things about this place and it's history. I was not disappointed by the hake. The place could use a general touch up although the area surrounding the restaurant is more than likely municipal ground (there was a lot of litter around and certain areas outside of the restaurant were less than pleasant). A very pleasant... More

Good basic fish and chips served in a bag and can be eaten on tables and benches outside. We both had Yellowtail and would have it again if we were in the area.

Had a great experience. Went there after a long table mountain hike. You don't have to wait forever for your food and it is not to expensive!

It is a great little place for fish and chips. Yellowfin and chips was excellent. Very very informal. Seating is at picnic tables outside, with no table service, but ordering at the counter and waiting there for your order is part of the ambiance.

This is one of the places on the "tourist route" where you don't feel that you are being ripped off ! Good fresh fish from the harbour next door, well cooked, and served "no frills" Just good fish and chips at a fair price.
