We've officially tried all of the fish & chips joints in Hout Bay & deem this one the best for this classic meal. The fried prawns here are also outstanding. Only complaint is that the floors & tables tend to be sticky & not cleaned often. Bring a package of wet wipes or get for take away.

We have been coming here for years and we have never been disappointed. The hake and chips are always fresh and delicious. Take-away or sit down when it's a nice day but be aware that this is a fish and chips place and not a proper restaurant. It can also get very busy and parking is limited.

Went there for lunch and order a platter for 4 - prawns, calamari, hake and chips. The calamari was the best I have every eaten - fresh, soft and buttery. Equally the prawns were large and excellent. the hake was sweet too. Location is excellent with benches with an amazing view right next to the water front.

Although the take away was pretty average, I had been told it was one of THE places to try calamari. the hake was very oily, but the piece of fish was good size. The hardest part was driving in and out as the building next door stank to such an extent, my girlfriend almost threw up.

Take your pick from a bunch of different types of fried fish with chips, take your basket of food and grab a spot at a picnic table around the side and enjoy the gorgeous view of Hout Bay. We were entertained by a restaurant worker that came out back with a huge fish and immediately a large seal waddled up... More

With the hake and chips, the breathtaking view of the harbour and mountains, seals swimming around and seagulls flying overhead (literally), this is definitely something to experience atleast once in your lifetime. I enjoyed my hake and chips but I wished they served it with tartar sauce. It would have been even better! My friend had the prawns and calamari... More

I was craving for fresh tasty fish but all we got was over battered over fried hake with thin "skimpy" chips. Also my brother purchased a combo of hake, chips and calamari and paid R82 whereas my bf bought the same but separately and paid R107. The quantity was the same...disappointed that the staff did not recommend a combo for... More
