We arrived without a reservation and were shown to a table in the bar area. The drinks and food were excellent and cocktails amazing. Would recommend to reserve and come dressed to impress.

We've been going to Kitima for many years. Last night was our 9th visit. The welcome was friendly and the environment familiar. They've been running a two shift system over peak season - first shift from 6 to 8pm and second from 8.30pm. We opted for 8.30pm. The cocktail was superb (mango, coriander, chili), opening up our senses. We then... More

The staff, the food, the whole experience was great. Nice wine list as well. I was with a large group so we got the private room with a large round table. It made for a great dining experience. Don't forget to ask about the history surrounding the building and the ghost who comes to dine every night.

Lovely place with very knowledgeable and friendly staff this restaurant has a good menu with something for everyone. Good wine list. Food is very good, well presented and very tasty but the one drawback is the level of noise in the room we were in Helpful parking assistants all official with red lighted paddles will guide you to a parking... The quality of food is always top notch! The staff are always spot on! This has to be one of THE best places to eat in the entire area! We prefer to eat "outside" in the lounges as it is airy and open. The standards are the same throughout but on hot evenings it's better here than in the more... More

My daughter booked for us for Sunday lunch and it was a buffet all you could eat for R275 excluding drinks. Good value for money. Usually I'm not a fan of buffets but this was great, lots of fresh sushi, spring rolls, dumplings, soup and mains including duck, pork, sea food, chicken, Vegetables with rice and noodles. Of course great little desserts. Enjoyed

Last ate here back in 2012 and the quality of the place has not diminshed. Invited to experience the Sunday buffet and it was a culinary delight, an array and variety of dishes exploring all avenues of Asian cooking. Just too many to mention but everything of the highest standard. Staff serving wear a plastic face mask, good idea. As... More

Friendly and dynamic staff. Beautiful vibe. Excellent service. I am a wine lover and Kitima's wine list is exceptional but I fell in love with the Strawberry Rose Martini - perfect balance with a hint of rose I always say I want to try new dishes on their menu but I always return for the Crispy Duck Worth the drive... If the locals keep going back, then it has to be good, and represent to good value. This is fine dining, but at pricing that is very affordable. The best cocktail menu in Africa also helps you spend just a little for time in the very well appointed bar .

Description
Between 1835 and 1849 the Kronendal Farm was owned by Sir William Josias Cloete. Legend has it that the homestead is haunted by his daughter Elsa Cloete who died of a broken heart after being forbidden to marry her soldier lover. Kitima still sets and serves a table for Elsa with samples from the menu to appease Elsa's spirit. Welcome to Kitima restaurant where oriental elegance and hospitality meet the unpretentious grace and charm of Africa. Our authentic Thai and Asian Fusion cuisine, prepared by our Thai chefs will carry you to a world of exotic spices, perfumes and all that's precious and exotic. Various dining option are available from our private lover's room seating 2-6 persons, our VIP room seating up to 12 persons, our Temple and Bangkok rooms as well as the Raya lounge for cocktails, drinks, snacks or even dinner to share. Kitima exudes all the splendour of a traditional Cape Dutch homestead with yellowwood ceilings, wooden floors combined with modern Asian artefacts and cuisine. Our cocktail list is extensive and features a number of award winners that are both stunning in taste and appeal. The restaurant has the addition of the garden and the Raya Terrace which are unique covered areas that are available, however these are weather permitting. We invite you to have a taste of true Thai cuisine in a traditional and modernised South African homestead.
