We stopped at "The Garden Room" for lunch expecting great food. We left horribly disappointed. All portions are really small but the menu is described as Tapas type menu so I expected small portions and as a result ordered to meals. I had the Gemsbok Terrine as a starter which left me highly disappointed as it was dead bland. This... More

The dining area of the bar is called the "Garden Room" and does open to the garden. The menu is short, which is fine, but the food is absolutely dead boring. A few years ago the cooking in the garden room was inventive and memorable. There is really nothing to make us want to eat here again or to recommend... More

Lovely shaded street terrace. Concoct your own gin and tonic. Marvel at the large spherical ice cube. Sit back and enjoy.

we have a house in franschhoek and have been many times to the living room - now pretentiously called the garden room. the menu has changed from being really appetizing to awful. The wines are boring and over priced. The mussels were over cooked. The croutons on the caesar salad were like bullets. The staff did their best and the... More

This bar has a nice friendly atmosphere with a side room off it and comfortabke seating. They serve a good range of drinks as well as tapas available to order from their bar menu. The staff are very friendly and attentive service. The bar is open to anyone and not restricted to hotel guests.

We had a lovely cheese platter here and drinks before dinner. I wish I was there right now having wine and cheese!

We popped in here as we were staying in the hotel, it wasn't a terribly welcoming experience. Slow service, no music or atmosphere. To be honest, they're not really trying. We went back just before 10pm & thought we'd have a night cap - they'd closed early, so not sure what the open hours are actually supposed to be. Not... More

Little brother of The Tating Room. Tapas type plates with limited but excellent menu. Craft cocktails and wonderful selection of wines. Really enjoyed it.

Quite hotel bar, great drinks and creative. On the main street, so if you want a cocktail before dinner, this is good quiet spot.

Went with some friends and could not believe wine prices in the heart of wine country. R120 for a tapas portion barely more than two tablespoons in size. Service friendly and efficient but will definitely not return to this place. A huge thumbs down from us.
