Overall it was a good experience, the Tuscany look and feel to the building situated in Franschoek. Service was great with me making a reservation the day before they knew we were coming and they decorated the table with white rose petals for that special touch. The food was really nice and I had a good experience. The water feature... More

I have now been to Monneaux at least 4 times, the most recent with my brother and his partner who live in the UK. Prepared to push the boat out, I could have chosen anywhere but I love Monneaux's atmosphere and the willingness on the staff to do whatever it takes to make your experience memorable. Some of our part... More

We were a group of 10 friends meeting for a cosy lunch lunch and a good time in Franschoek.... And thats just what we had 😊 Unfortunately, due to a hectic storm the previous day, which caused a tree to come crashing down on the dining room, the facility was not available. Undaunted, management saw fit to accommodate us in... More

We were staying in the Franschoek Country House and Villas which is on the same site as this restaurant and decided to eat here our first night after travelling. The food was very well cooked and presented and there was a large selection of local wines all at great prices if you live in the UK. It had been raining... More

It was our first time at Monneaux Restaurant and we had an enjoyable evening. The setting is beautiful, the ambiance great. The service is friendly and attentive. The food was good, however, while my husband and I enjoyed our meals, my mother had duck which was not great. The rest of our menu was very nice though. A good place... More

Prior to our visit to South Africa we did some research on Trip Advisor about good restaurants in the Franschhoek area. Monneaux was recommended and we now can see why, There were four of us and the meal and wine was excellent no complaints great food, wine and value for money. The additional best bit for us was as we... More

The place was hit by a storm the day before our arrival, so the restaurant was moved to the wine cellar. It was quite cool to sit among all the wines. Some things were more interesting on the menu than in real life. Like the duck liver burger. It was to some extent both dry and under cooked. There are... More

I enjoy my dinner here. The choice was enticing and distinctive in meats and dishes that demonstrated great flair and imagination. The staff were friendly. The food was well presented. My 'but' refers to the two things. First the fact that I felt the food needed more seasoning - it was just a little too bland. This is a matter... More

We ate springbok - beautifully prepared meal on the outside patio. Lunch was great with good local wine and a pretty plate.

Description
Monneaux Restaurant ranks among South Africa's top restaurants, and serves an inspired contemporary take on the classics. Lunch is enjoyed on the fountain terrace under a spreading pepper tree while dinner is enjoyed in the elegant but relaxed dining room in the original manor house. Set on the original site of Franschhoek's first parfumerie, today its the heavenly scent of chef Adrian Buchanans cooking that inspires at the Monneaux Restaurant, a Cape culinary classic. Even by the food & wine capital of the country's high standards, Monneaux is an extra-ordinary success, having been in the country's Top 100 list for six years consecutively, on the Top 10 list for two years and winning the American Express Platinum Award for fine dining. The underground cellar is available for private functions where dinner can be enjoyed by an impressive selection of local and foreign wines. The restaurant's bar lounge provide a comfortable environment to relax and enjoy the company you're with. The wine list emphasizes the boutique wines of the Franschhoek Valley as well as an impressive selection of other award winning wines of South Africa
