We had read earlier reviews of this restaurant and decided since we were nearby to give it a try. WOW ! We shared my wife's birthday celebration with good friends and what an experience. This venue rates as high as many three start Michelin restaurants we have visited with a price tag which is one third of other venues. We... More

This was one of the most memorable dining experiences we have had. Chef Margot Janse is “next level” creative. We opted for the eight-course tasting menu with wine. It is pricy, but certainly worth it. I think we had about 12 courses in the end, thanks to all the delightful complimentary “surprise courses”. Our waitress was outstanding.

This is the place for an exceptionally special occasion, you just need to decide whether you'd like this one meal or a weekend away for two because that's the kind of $$$ we are talking! The food was interesting and intriguing, most of it extremely delicious and we didn't leave hungry! It's all a surprise so there's no choice in... More

The service and quality of the food was really good, however I think there were too many courses. My husband and I were both served different courses without any choice. It was good to try over 8 courses but soon it all tasted the same. Worth the experience but would not go back.

We arrived here and were initially blown away by the first couple of tasting courses and wine pairings, which were innovative and exciting! However, felt it somewhat petered out. A course which stands out in particular was covered in (inedible) rocks and mountain plants "to give the diner the feel of walking through the mountains" but contained a fish based... More

This is a experience you cannot miss! The food is so interesting and tasty. I would love to eat there again! I had the wine pairing. All the waiters had excellent knowledge about the food and wine. Worth every cent.

An extraordinary experience - exciting, imaginative food is an understatement. The people are committed, knowledgeable and laid back, the interior is unpretentious, the ambience focuses but low key. And for Europeans the prices are oh so accessible. Good luck getting a table reservation though!

We have had Tasting menus in many top restaurants in Europe and as an experience The Tasting Room was right up there. We were not shown a menu but are food likes / dislikes were discussed when we sat down. The food was interesting and nicely cooked. We liked the way the food was introduced and the African flavours explained.... More

........for the price, the food and wine should have been better. We went with a group of 8 and had been looking forward to the experience. The staff was friendly and the service was impeccable. We loved the bread and half the dishes on the tasting menu. However, the quail dish was only ok and the fish dish was very... More
