Received a menu in my Wood Ridge P.O. box and took a chance. The specialty pizza ordered had toppings well prepared but the bottom crust was terribly burned, making what could have been a decent pizza unpleasant.

I had dinner at Emilo-Romano last night for dinner with a friend. It is a pizzeria with a small but nice dining room off to the side. I have never seen the dining room that busy ever, but for some reason the place was almost...packed with guests and to go orders and the restaurant could not handle it. It took almost an hour just to get a salad and bread. I don't think they were used to this crowd. The food was worth the wait. The warm bread started the meal off and we managed to go through two baskets of it because it was so good. It was warm, soft and fresh. Their salads are delicious and so fresh. Not your standard ice berg lettuce that you get in most pizzerias but a mix of lettuces and tomatoes with a nice creamy Italian dressing. I had the chicken parmesan with spaghetti platter that was delicious. The chicken was moist and perfectly cooked as was the pasta, which most restaurants do wrong and the sauce is so flavorful with a rich tomato taste and the right amount of spices. You could really taste the tomatoes. My guest had a chicken wrap that she enjoyed as well. The food was worth the wait if you have two hours for dinner. The owner did explain that they had several big to go orders and had problems getting the dining room orders out. Several patrons finally walked out without getting their food so that was not a smart decision to do the to go orders first. You have to serve the people that were their on a timely basis. It seemed that all the to go patrons as well as the dining room patrons were waiting around for their food. The kitchen staff should have had this better timed. The owner/chef did take off one of our refills to make up for it. Overall the food is excellent and the service is friendly (the waitress had a good personality and kept apologizing for the food being so late), but the restaurant needs to get its act in order on a busy Saturday night. I want to try it for dinner again to give it a fair review. I think that they need more help on a busy night but overall the food was excellent.More

I stopped in for dinner this evening for a few slices of pizza and they were wonderful. The counter service is very friendly and the pizza tasted like it had just been made. The sauce has a wonderful flavor to it and tasted fresh and...delicious. They even brought it to the table for me and the pizza cook took the time out to make sure I enjoyed it. It warrants a second trip to try the entrees.More

Im partial to Basiles but this place is not bad as a backup. Never had anything other than their pizza but they seem to have a lot on their menu. Reasonable prices too.

Excellent quality food, highly recommend the baked ravioli, pepperoni roll, mozzarella sticks are fantastic, and pizza has a great buttery taste to the crust. The owners and staff truly care about each customer that walks through the door.

This is a small neighborhood setting.The first time I went I was amazed at the taste and presentation of the food. It is far removed from your local pizza joint. Now when we just want some good Italian food with no fru fru, we go...to Emilia's. You always feel welcome. The price is reasonable so you can tip the waitress more . You can ask for the menu to be adjusted to taste. The service is always warm, welcoming and fast. There is no rush, so bring the whole family, stay a while, talk and enjoy . Just like if you visited a relatives house. They have tv so you could watch the game. BYO but there is a good selection of sodas and diet soda. Portions large so you can take left overs for lunch the next day. It is on the corner of a main street but parking in the evening is pretty good. Better for a date or family than for a business meeting. Kid friendly and handicap accessable. No pictures- going there means serious sit down to eat. It is served piping hot so you have to be sure to test it. There is no brown or wilted lettus in the salad.There is a sweet shop next door and a liquer store down and across the street. They have been open even in bad weather and reservations are not required. They do a brisk pick up pizza business in a separate section. My mouth is watering just thinking about this place.More
