In this time of a pandemic, the Olympic is forced to offer outside, under cover, dining along the bike path, adjacent the ocean, with a spectacular view and the activity of those exercising and doing what families do best-enjoying the outdoors. There food is great...and is made by staff who have been at it for a long time. Glancing in the kitchen, the cooks are professional and take pride in their preparations which are all very good. Cream chipped beef is offered everyday and along with a hot cup of coffee, I am set! The staff is friendly and the owners are very nice people who always remember a returning patron. This is just a real nice, hometown treasure that offers a take out window in lieu of dining for those on the run. The decor is that of the 50's era and although not able to dine inside, it remains comfortable and delicious as always.More
We have been enjoying breakfast at the Olympic for over 20 years! The staff are outstanding and you always get a delicious and filling breakfast to start your day. The prices are great and it's clean! Their pancakes are top notch and I would put...them up against anyone's!!More
Everyone ordered something different so if you got pancakes, they were huge. Plain cheese omelet was thin but the ham and cheese was huge. Home fries are actually the potatoes, not diner home fries. Just FYI.a breakfast runs about $10. They do have a takeout...window, which is pretty cool. They also have a limited amount of outdoor seating.More
The BLT is one of the most pleasurable sandwiches, for carnivores, anyway—and a summer classic.
Every year we rent bikes, ride the Wildwood Boardwalk, and then make our way down to Wildwood Crest to eat BLTs for lunch. We used to switch it up between...Olympic Island Restaurant and a place called The Crusader but have settled in the last few years on Olympic, because they have a smattering of umbrella tables outside for take-out orders and because the interior, if we eat in, is a time warp to 1972 or thereabouts—complete with a jukebox that stops somewhere around Barry Manilow’s “Tryin’ to Get That Feelin’.”
It doesn’t hurt that the BLTs here are on point. The bread is perfectly toasted, the bacon cooked crisp and flat but not completely dry and brittle, and the lettuce and tomato crisp and cool—and just enough of each. I always order extra mayo. It comes with a bag of Utz plain chips and a couple thick slices of pickle. An Arnold Palmer is the perfect accompanying beverage.
We went twice this year, but the truth is I could stand going every day—if I didn’t have Mack’s Pizza slices calling to me from up on the boardwalk…More
Loved that this restaurant has a take out window! The food is super fresh, delicious, and perfectly priced. One of the best cheese steak I ever had. Great coffee and they use coffee cubes for the iced coffee, nice touch!
