We went to Nikko Japanese Restaurant for a special occasion. We went in with good spirits but our dinner was ruined by the waitress who served us. It all started when the waitress took our order for drinks. We all requested for water and she was obviously was not happy with that. We figure that she was unhappy because she... More

Lunch is busy, get there early and savor it. We shared the sunshine roll, spicy salmon and peppered tuna in wasabi sauce. Also the saki selection is great! Highly recommend for lunch.

Our service was extremely slow... took 45 minutes to get our rolls... Also the waitress did not look happy to service us. It was an extremely disappointing experience and we will not go back.

I have Nikko once a week for lunch. Sushi is always fresh. Lunch specials are great (smaller portion of dinner menu). Staff is well trained and courteous. They have been in a competitive restaurant area for 30+ years, so you know they are doing it right. If you are looking for Japanese food, this is the place to go.

My colleagues choose this restaurant for an informal business lunch. We stayed in the tatami area which is more private and cozy but may become uncomfortable after a while. It looks a real family business and the waitresses were dressed in Japanese outfits. We got different appetizers options which were all amazing (I recommend the guiozas with different fillings). Main... More

I love going to Nikko. It almost feels like a home away from home for me. (My Mom is Japanese.) The food has always been fresh and delicious. I sometimes struggle with what to get because there are so many great choices. The various tuna (super white, yellow tail, etc.) are great. I espeically love the sushi sashimi lunch combo,... More

Nikko had a past rep as a great sushi place but not anymore. Our service was very slow, unapologetic and made numerous mistakes. Management blamed the waitress and the server blamed management. Food was not worth the aggravation. Overall poor service and mediocre food. Don't bother.

The choices in Japanese restaurants in the area seems to be exploding and becoming the dominant Asian cuisine in North NJ. This was one of the first and while it is decent, many of the newer competitors have surpassed it. It is good for a large group because they do have large round tables, and a private room.
